Roles & Responsibilities

 

 

Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Prepare and execute weekly/monthly production plans based on MPS, order books, and capacity availability.
  • Convert demand forecasts, work orders, and customer schedules into detailed shop‑floor schedules.
  • Monitor daily production progress and ensure adherence to plans.
  • Identify bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and delays; escalate risks proactively.

 

Material Planning & Control

  • Execute MRP activities to ensure timely availability of raw materials, bought‑out parts, and aerospace‑grade components.
  • Track long‑lead and critical items and follow up with procurement and suppliers.
  • Monitor inventory levels, WIP, and shortages to prevent production stoppages.
  • Ensure material availability for FAI, prototypes, and milestone builds.

 

Cross‑Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Stores, Procurement, and Program teams for smooth execution.
  • Support engineering changes (ECNs) by updating plans and controlling configuration impacts.
  • Assist in customer program reviews related to production status and delivery commitments.

 

Monitoring, Reporting & Control

  • Track key PPC metrics such as OTD, plan adherence, WIP, inventory consumption, and capacity utilization.
  • Prepare daily/weekly PPC dashboards and MIS reports.
  • Support root‑cause analysis for delivery deviations and schedule slippages.

 

Quality, Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure planning and execution comply with AS9100 requirements, traceability norms, and aerospace documentation practices.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits with accurate planning data and reports.
  • Maintain accurate data in ERP systems including routing, BOMs, work orders, and schedules.

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Support Lean, Kaizen, and process improvement initiatives in planning and material control.
  • Assist in improving PPC processes through digitization, better scheduling logic, and data accuracy.
  • Encourage discipline in planning, reporting, and shop‑floor control.

 

Team Support

  • Guide PPC executives and planners in day‑to‑day activities.
  • Act as a backup to the Manager – PPC when required.
  • Contribute to team skill development and standard operating procedures.

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Aerospace / Production / Industrial Engineering
  • Postgraduate qualification in Operations / Supply Chain – preferred

 

Experience

  • 6–10 years of experience in PPC / Production Planning, preferably in aerospace, defence, or precision manufacturing
  • Experience with low‑volume, high‑complexity, make‑to‑order or project‑based manufacturing
  • Exposure to ERP‑driven planning environments
