Dy. Manager - Quality

RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. In‑Process & Final Inspection

• Conduct first piece, in‑process, and final inspections for machined components.
• Verify critical dimensions using Vernier, micrometer, bore gauge, height gauge, CMM, etc.
• Perform visual inspection for burrs, tool marks, surface finish, chamfers, thread quality, etc.
• Ensure components comply with engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and tolerance standards.

2. Interpretation of Technical Documents

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, control plans, and inspection standards.
• Understand GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) symbols and applications.
• Verify machining parameters and ensure the process adheres to defined specifications.

3. Process Monitoring & Verification

• Monitor machining operations to confirm they follow the standard machining process (SOP / WI).
• Validate correct usage of jigs, fixtures, tools, and gauges.
• Check tool wear conditions affecting quality and alert operators when deviations occur.

4. Non‑Conformance Detection & Control

• Identify non‑conforming parts (NCPs) and segregate them properly using red bins / quarantine area.
• Raise NCRs (Non‑Conformity Reports) with complete evidence and documentation.
• Support root‑cause identification using 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, etc.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate inspection records, including measurement sheets and quality logs.
• Update tool calibration records, gauge usage logs, and inspection reports.
• Ensure all inspection activities follow AS9001 documentation requirements.

6. Communication & Coordination

• Work closely with production, QA, tool room, and maintenance teams.
• Report quality issues immediately to supervisors and quality engineers.
• Guide operators on quality requirements and raise awareness on critical features.

COMPETENCY :

Education : Diploma / BE Mechanical Engineering

Experience : 8-12 Years 

Knowledge & Critical Skills :

- Sound Knowledge in Machining Inspection.
- General Aerospace Manufacturing Methods & Procedures for Parts & Assemblies
- Quality Standards, Approval Procedures & Documentation Requirements
