Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

This Role is at O- band level

Part of the Central GST team handling MIS, Tax accounting and Income tax, TDS & GST compliance
Scope of responsibilities for GST- 
Responsible for managing GST compliance processes including periodic MIS reporting, tax GL reconciliation, and monthly filings (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) with accurate ITC tracking. Ensure timely submission of returns, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate with internal teams for invoice validation and pending actions. Handle budget vs actual expense analysis, division-wise ITC utilization, and tax payment postings in SAP. Support statutory, cost, and tax audits by providing complete and accurate information and addressing queries promptly.

Scope of responsibilities for Indirect tax
Key Responsibilities:
1.Monthly Compliance 
Assist in preparation and review of GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B filings including Input Tax Credit mismatches.
Ensure timely and accurate submission in compliance with GST regulations.
Track and report unresolved items with escalation where necessary.
Perform IMS activity, including invoice validation and matching
Coordinate with accounting team to take necessary actions on pending items on timely basis.
"2.    Division-wise ITC Utilization & Tax Payment Posting"
Post division-wise ITC utilization and tax payment entries in SAP on monthly basis 
Maintain records of inter-divisional entries and ensure it matches with data available on GSTN portal 
"3.    Tax GL Reconciliation"
Perform state wise reconciliation between GST returns and General Ledger accounts.
Identify discrepancies and coordinate with GST compliance teams for resolution.
"4.    Periodic MIS Reporting"
Prepare and publish monthly MIS reports related to GST compliance, ITC utilization, and tax positions.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of data for management review.
"5.    Supporting Litigation Management "
Monitor cases under litigation both under legacy (Sales Tax, Excise, Service Tax ), Customs &GST matters
Prepare datpoints for issues under litigation/inquiries
Preparing drafts responses in these matters
"6.    Budget vs Actual Expense Analysis"
Conduct monthly analysis of actual expenses against approved budgets.
Identify variances, provide explanations, and highlight trends.
Prepare and present detailed reports to the Head of Department for decision-making.
"7.    Audit Coordination"
Coordinate with Statutory, Cost, and Tax Auditors and provide accurate and complete information in a timely basis.
Respond to auditor queries in a timely manner and close the same.

Scope of responsibilities for TDS & Income tax- 
"1.    TDS Compliances"
Prepare and process monthly TDS/TCS workings for all types of payments (contractor, professional, rent, interest, salaries, etc.).
Ensure correct deduction and deposit of TDS/TCS within statutory timelines.
Prepare & file quarterly TDS/TCS returns (Form 24Q, 26Q, 27Q, 27EQ).
Verify vendor PAN, section applicability & correct TDS rate.
Reconcile Form 26AS, TRACES statements & books of accounts.
Generate and issue TDS certificates (Form 16, 16A, 27D).
Handle TDS defaults, demand notices
Prepare and maintain vendor declaration files (15CA/CB, 15G/15H, lower deduction certificates).
"2.    Income Tax Compliances"
Assist in preparation of corporate income tax working papers.
Support in advance tax computations and deposit of instalments.
Prepare and maintain schedules for tax audits (Form 3CD working).
Assist in filing of Income Tax Returns for the company or individuals (as applicable).
Reconcile tax provisions vs. actual tax liability
Maintain complete records of challans, return acknowledgements, and statutory documents.
Maintain all tax-related MIS reports on a monthly/quarterly basis.

Experience

5–6 years in GST compliance, preferably in manufacturing / agricultural sector.

Industry Preferred

Qualifications

Professionally qualified Accountant – CA or ICWA
