Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Job Description:
To create a culture of excellence in the organization through a central quality management system (Process/ Product audits, process capability, TQM and other initiatives), process improvement initiatives and knowledge management and risk assessment and compliance
DGM Quality Management (Assurance & Systems) function is responsible for spearheading organizational improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with and enhancement of quality systems to continuously enhance Customer delight, and overseeing risk adherence and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management Across Locations. Oversees quality management across all units, supported by cluster Quality Managers.
Responsible for driving a centralized quality management system through sub-functions such as audits, TQM and various quality initiatives. IMS implementations to ensure Standardization & Evaluation.
Leads the Quality Control department includes – Receipt, Process, Field Quality.
Participate in Value Fit Parts Development through Drawing approvals and VPPAP approvals and Monitor receipt quality performance for VF parts.
Working with Operations & other functions to continuously improve effectivity of Quality Systems by processes simplification, use of IT technology etc.
Improving Problem solving capability of executives through guiding, organizing trainings etc.
Process Improvement & Business Excellence
Drives process improvement initiatives and manage business intelligence through a knowledge management system. Collaborate with business and functional heads to identify pain points, select and plan improvement projects, and champion initiatives such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and Lean.
Technical & Advisory Support
Provides expert guidance to project leaders on Six Sigma tools, problem-solving techniques, statistical methods, and knowledge transfer. Monitors project progress, resolve issues proactively, and ensure timely completion of improvement initiatives.
Internal Collaboration
Maintains close coordination with business and functional heads, facilitating knowledge sharing and smooth transitions of projects, initiatives, and technologies across units.
Systems/ SAP knowledge:
SAP QM Module, SAP MM, Warehouse Management Systems, EWM, IM
Any Additional Knowledge:
TQM & Deming application
Skill Set:
Functional Competency -
Full understanding of quality management principles and expert in implementation of problem-solving methodology like QC tools, Six Sigma.
Deep understanding of the nature of business, end to end from Spare Parts planning, Procurement, Billing and retail. Ability to work with teams, departments and across disciplines. Communication ability and interpersonal skills. Ability to mentor professionals and help them develop/grow.
Communication Skills –
Good communicator, Coaching ability for spreading quality tools
Education Qualification
BE/ Diploma – Mechanical, Automobile, Production + Professional qualification in QA like Lean Six Sigma Black Belt / Green Belt
General Experience
20+ yrs of relevant experience
