Sr. Lead Engineer - Cloud & Engineering

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Lead Engineer to spearhead a strategic new initiative within Cloud & infrastructure team of GTO. This is a hybrid leadership and technical role designed for a visionary who can bridge the gap between traditional industrial engineering and modern cloud-native software delivery.

Candidate will be responsible for designing and managing scalable cloud infrastructure while embedding Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles into core operations. Beyond the cloud, you will serve as a critical liaison between software, hardware, and business strategy, ensuring the successful delivery of software-defined smart manufacturing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cloud Strategy & Infrastructure Leadership

• Architectural Design: Build secure, resilient cloud-native and hybrid solutions across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• SRE & Reliability: Implement SRE best practices to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of connected car services.
• Optimization: Drive cost-management initiatives by identifying underutilized resources and optimizing system performance.
• IoT Integration: Implement IoT and cloud computing infrastructure 

2. Engineering Excellence & OT Convergence

• IT/OT Bridging: Act as the technical bridge between Information Technology and Operational Technology (OT) to drive smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware teams, and external suppliers to manage complex dependencies and technical requirements.
• Standards & Quality: Oversee system design, set rigorous technical standards, and ensure the highest levels of product quality.

3. Business Integration & Product Strategy

• Stakeholder Alignment: Translate complex technical roadmaps for non-technical business stakeholders, ensuring engineering strategy aligns with corporate objectives.
• Business Discovery: Work directly with business units to identify operational pain points and implement advanced technology tools that reduce time-to-market.
• Industrial Optimization: Review and refine industrial processes to improve service delivery and product efficiency.

4. Team Leadership & Agile Delivery

• People Management: Nurture and mentor junior and mid-level engineers through regular one-on-ones, technical guidance, and career pathing.
• Agile Orchestration: Lead teams within Agile frameworks, managing project planning, risk estimation, and the removal of delivery obstacles.
• Cultural Leadership: Foster a high-performance culture, resolve conflicts, and motivate the team to meet aggressive delivery milestones.

Experience

10+ Year of experience in a senior technical role with a proven track record in cloud architecture and software-defined engineering.

Industry Preferred

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

General Requirements

• Technical Depth: Expert-level knowledge of cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Kubernetes/Docker), and SRE methodologies.
• Domain Expertise: Familiarity with automotive/industrial engineering, IoT protocols, or large-scale manufacturing systems is highly preferred.
• Leadership: Strong experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships at a senior level.
• Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences, from the factory floor to the boardroom.
