Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Bus (fully build vehicle) development & delivery of projects wrt project time lines.

1. Knowledge of of complete BUS body guild processes wrt MPDS and end to end ownership of deliverables as per project gateways.

2. Awareness of Supplier base of Bus body build indusry.

3. Complete awareness on vendor selection and business nomination process including RFQ, QS, TS,VOB, part development, PPAP.

4. Identifying critical commodities that need ESI, facilitate quality ESI as per MPDS process

5. Variance analysis at each stage of development in terms of Quality & Delivery & corrective action

6. Effective co-ordination with the Design team, Strategic sourcing , CDMM & Plant teams in order to ensure first time right delivery.

7. Ability to drive project QCD Targets from front with agility and ownership.

8. Developing parts as per APQP process with first time right, daily monitoring on quality issues /prodution qty wrt monthly targets.

9. Active participation in product Quality reviews and timely closure of all process & product related issues.

10. Support Production Vehicel Engineering Tean (PVT) for analysis of field warranty issues related to vendor part quality.

11. Obsolescence control and monitoring.

12. Drive cost reduction projects - tracking, coordinating, drive for closure.

13. Ability to generate the cost saving ideas and drive them for implementation in an cross functional environment.

Experience

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in vendor development and management in the automotive industry. Experience with bus body build processes, supplier base, and vendor selection is a must. Additionally, proficiency in project management, APQP process, and cost reduction initiatives is required. Knowledge of MPDS and ESI processes is highly desirable.

Industry Preferred

Experience in the automotive industry, specifically in the bus body build segment, is preferred for this role. Familiarity with the vendor base in this sector will be advantageous. Previous exposure to project management and cost reduction projects will be beneficial for successful performance in this position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.  
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in vendor development and management in the automotive industry.
  • Proficiency in project management and APQP process.
  • Understanding of MPDS and ESI processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
