Manager- Engine Proprietary (CLPL- CDMM)

To develop and industrialize Mechanical Prop parts like Clutch Assy/Pistons/Oil Pump Assy/Water Pump Assy/ Oil cooler Assy/Radiator Assy/Sintered parts/Bearings etc for two-wheelers ensuring quality, durability, cost optimization, and timely project execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Component Development
- Lead end-to-end development of Mechanical Proprietary for 2W applications (Engine and transmission systems).
- Work on new product development (NPD), localization, and design change activities.
- Ensure technical specifications, drawings, and manufacturing requirements to be met
- RFQ release/
3. Supplier Development
- Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for Clutch Assy/Pistons/Drive Chains/Sprockets/timing chain/Sintered parts/Valves/Bearings etc
- Drive APQP, PPAP approvals with suppliers.
- Ensure supplier readiness for mass production.
4. Manufacturing Process Management
- Monitor and optimize key processes:
- Casting, Machining, Compaction, Sintering, Forging
- Broaching/Hobbing/Grinding
- Heat treatment (carburizing, hardening, tempering, nitriding)
- Surface finishing (painting/powder coating)
- Ensure adherence to process capability (Cp, Cpk).
5. Quality & Validation
- Plan and execute validation activities:
- Metallurgical checks
- Dimensional inspection
- DVP testing & Validation
- Analyse field failures and implement corrective actions.
- Implement 8D, root cause analysis, and continuous improvements.
6. Cost Optimization
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through:
- VA/VE activities
- Process improvements
- Material optimization
- Support localization and alternate sourcing strategies.
7. Project Management
- Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Purchase, Production).
- Ensure timely SOP (Start of Production).
8. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain technical documentation:
- Drawings
- Specifications
- PPAP documents

Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of:
- Proprietary parts handling/TSO closure/Development tracking wrt PPAP & APQP gateways
- Casting, Machining & Heat treatment processes
- Metallurgy of Casting/Sintering/alloy steel
- Knowledge of:
- GD&T
- APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA

Qualifications
- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience: 4–8 years (preferably in 2W / automotive transmission components)
Preferred Experience
- Experience in 2W OEM or Tier-1 supplier
- Exposure to Engine & transmission systems
- Experience in supplier quality/development roles
