Roles & Responsibilities :
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and execute master production plans (MPS) aligned with customer demand, contract milestones, and capacity availability.
- Translate sales forecasts and project requirements into detailed production schedules.
- Balance capacity, manpower, machines, and tooling to meet delivery targets.
- Coordinate shop‑floor priorities to manage short‑term and long‑term schedules.
Material Planning & Control
- Plan and monitor material requirements (MRP) for raw materials, bought‑out parts, and aerospace‑grade components.
- Ensure availability of critical and long‑lead-time materials to avoid production disruptions.
- Control inventory levels to minimize excess, obsolete, and non‑moving stock while ensuring supply continuity.
- Work closely with Procurement and Stores to manage vendor schedules and deliveries.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, and Program Management teams.
- Support NPI (New Product Introduction) by planning prototypes, first articles, and ramp‑up schedules.
- Participate in customer and program review meetings related to delivery commitments and production status.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and analyze KPIs such as OTD (On‑Time Delivery), plan adherence, inventory turns, WIP levels, and capacity utilization.
- Identify bottlenecks and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare periodic MIS reports and dashboards for senior management.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 / AS9102, aerospace traceability, and configuration control requirements.
- Support audits (internal, customer, regulatory) by providing accurate planning and production data.
- Drive lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and digital PPC initiatives to improve efficiency and predictability.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the PPC team.
- Define roles, responsibilities, and performance objectives for team members.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Education :
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Aerospace / Production / Industrial Engineering
- MBA / PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain – preferred
Experience :
- 10–15 years of experience in Production Planning & Control, preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing
- Proven experience handling complex assemblies, low‑volume high‑mix production, and stringent delivery schedules
- Exposure to make‑to‑order / project‑based manufacturing is an advantage
