Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Within the Supply Chain Planning & Control (SCPC) Buying team at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will play a vital role in coordinating and executing strategic procurement activities specific to the Farm Division. Your core responsibilities will include managing vendor relationships, driving cost optimization strategies, and ensuring material availability to meet production schedules effectively.
Key deliverables encompass:
- Developing and maintaining robust sourcing plans aligned with the division's operational requirements and business goals.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including production, design, and quality assurance to forecast material needs and mitigate supply risks.
- Utilizing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems alongside SAP to monitor inventory levels, track purchase orders, and execute timely procurement actions.
- Conducting market analysis to identify emerging suppliers and negotiate competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives within supply chain processes to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and support sustainability objectives.
- Ensuring compliance with company procurement policies, ethical standards, and supplier diversity commitments.
- Reporting on procurement performance metrics and providing insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.

Education Qualification
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree, preferably specialising in Mechanical Engineering. This educational foundation is vital in understanding the technical specifications and quality requirements associated with sourcing components in the automotive and farm equipment sectors.
Additional qualifications or certifications in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Material Management are considered advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to professional growth within this field.
Continuous learning mindset and familiarity with industry standards and regulatory compliance in the automotive or related manufacturing sectors will further support effective job performance.
General Experience
Candidates should possess 2 to 4 years of professional experience within supply chain planning, procurement, or materials management roles, with exposure to the automotive industry or similar manufacturing environments.
Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software such as SAP is essential, as these tools will underpin daily operational responsibilities.
Exposure to strategic buying, vendor management, and cost negotiation will facilitate success in handling the complexities of the Farm Division's supply chain requirements.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with a results-oriented approach is highly valued, alongside excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Critical Experience
Critical experience includes demonstrated expertise in procurement processes specific to the automotive or farm equipment manufacturing industry, encompassing a thorough understanding of the supply chain dynamics and material flow management.
Proficiency in using SAP and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools to forecast, plan, and execute purchase orders is mandatory.
Experience in supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and relationship management is critical to achieving cost efficiencies and ensuring supply reliability.
