Deputy General Manager-R&D

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

• Oversee the design and development of electrical and electronic systems including wiring, control units, sensors, and circuit boards for tractors.
• Ensure the successful integration of electrical and electronic components into tractor designs, meeting performance, reliability, and cost targets.
• Should have knowledge & exposure in developing EV technologies.
• Manage design projects from conception through completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget. Coordinate with other departments to align product development with overall business strategy.
• Lead R&D initiatives to explore new technologies and design methodologies that enhance product functionality and competitiveness.
• Implement rigorous testing protocols and quality assurance measures to ensure all designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, driving continuous innovation in electrical and electronics design.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical design, manufacturing, and marketing to achieve cohesive product development.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all design processes, specifications, and changes.
• Lead and mentor the electrical and electronics design team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

General Experience

15-18 years in electrical and electronics design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in off-highway vehicles, tractors, or automotive would be preferred.

Education Qualification

B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
