Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

"1) Responsible for Indirect Tax compliance of  North Zone States inclduing the  following scope of roles and responsibilities 
i) Analysis/due diligence and finalising monthly GST payments.
ii) Responsible for reporting compliances in terms of discharging appropriate tax liability and filing periodical returns including Annual Returns and ensure zero default on technicalities.
iii) Filing and realisation of eligible refunds in time pertaining to exports, inverted duty structure or any other refund arises during compliance.
iv) Responsible for compliance under Customs 
v) Attending GST Audits conducted by the tax authorities and its appropriate conclusion. 
vi)Responsible for GST related accounting & reconciliation for multiple GST Registrations  (Revenue , ITC , Liabilities etc.).
vii) Compilation  of GST related data /analysis to support GST MIS team to attend Cost Audit/Tax Audit/Statutory Audit conducted at corporate / head office.
viii)Compilation of GST Registration wise GST Revenue Vs Financial Revenue as per Trial Balance for Annual GST Returns -Form GSTR-9  & 9C.
ix)Responsible for  ITC matching activity in close coordination with compliance & cross functional teams and close the issues before due date as per Sect 16.  
x)Attending to task assigned in relation to Control Management Portal for reporting/validation of Compliance requirement.
xi)Rendering due support to tax compliance team / collaborating with other departments internally for meeting any queries raised. This will include supporting the Channel Partners (Vendors, Customers, Dealers etc) wherever advised/required.
xii)Render due support to GST leadership on advocacy topics / representing issues before Govt. directly or thru Trade/Industry forums.
xiii) Sharing data for tax authorities against various  inquiries /investigations/Audits. 
xiv) Detailed scrutiny/examination of notices/letters, including show-cause cum demand notices issued by the jurisdictional tax authorities related to GST laws. 
xv) Wherever required, visiting offices of various departmental officers for complying with various notices /letters etc.
xvi) Liaison/collaborating with Legal Counsels / Tax experts engaged by the company for any tax related issues as and when required. 
xvii) Drafting replies to  notices/letters, submissions to be made in course of adjudication and other proceedings and attending Personal Hearing 
xviii) Attending to/preparing draft appeals/submissions in any appellate proceedings in afore-stated matters before any appellate forums (e.g. Commissioner-Appeals, Tribunal etc.). 
xix) Keeping track of the cases pending adjudication or appeal at various authorities and ensuring updation of records maintained for tracking litigation disputes either thru Litigation Portal or offline worksheets by concerned officer/team."

Education Qualification

 Preferably CA/ICWA/Law Graduate 

General Experience

10-12  years relevant experience

Critical Experience

'1)Excellent  Knowledge of Law & Procedure related to GST, including  expert understanding of rules/principles in Classification of Goods/Services,  2) Updating oneself on law amendments, procedures/regulations, case decisions at various forums including Courts of law, Appellate/Authority for Advance Rulings, and sharing any significant impact/ concerns to company, with all stakeholders.
3) Excellent understanding of Finance & Accounting principles under Indirect Taxation.
4) Good  Analytical and Presentation skills. 
5) Good in MS office (Excel, PPT and word).
6)Good operational knowledge on SAP .
7)Excellent  Drafting and Communication skills.
8) Excellent understanding of ASP & GSP utilities and GST Returns filing requirement.
9) Skill sets required for dealing with Govt. Authorities at different jurisdiction, different levels including higher forums. 
10)Participate in training and knowledge dissemination workshops for internal /external stakeholders.
11) Good in time & people management and maintaining PR with the authorities.
