Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Active sourcing to map completion for entire commodity business.Devise long term and short term sourcing strategies considering current and future business needs and Industry dynamics.Carrying out negotiations with suppliers for own commodity and facilitating own team.Achieve cost saving targets by driving negotiations.Empanelling vendors as per the targets.Vendor on board by identifying suitable supplier panel, techno commercial synthesis and negotiations.Bringing in industry intelligence in own domain and keep up with the technology trends in own domain.Presenting key updates, issues to senior management and seek support for de bottlenecking wherever required.Supporting Supplier Business Capability Building initiative for own commodity.Anticipate business risk associated with own commodities and relevant industries and propose mitigation plan.Actively collaborating with multiple stakeholdersSSU Leadership, Accounts, Business Excellence, Plant Heads, Spares Sourcing Head, Strategic Vendors, Government Agencies to resolve/anticipate issues and ensure smooth operations.Participating in various SSU forums to project business indicators, concerns, highlights of performance and give inputs to stakeholders /decision making.Being a role model for Ethics and Integrity as well as demonstration of Sourcing behaviours.To be amiable, professional and approachable at all times.
1) Commodity Management - Developing Sourcing Strategies, Supplier Selection & Assessment, Commercial settlement (Proprietary Systems like-Steering, Clutch, Air filters, Seating System, Brakes, Exhaust system, Engine Cooling module & HVAC), Capex/investment settlement
2) Managing Total Cost of ownership through Cost Negotiated Saving & Value Engineering
3) Material cost Containment
4) Supplier Risk Management & Mitigation (Associated with commodity, conversion, fire & safety etc)
5) Capacity planning, Setting up structural review & de-bottleneck issues
6) Benchmarking for Technology & cost
7) Data Analytics & leverage technology for effective analysis

Critical Experience

Commodity buyer of high value commodity with exposure to Multi commodity.Having Achieved cost saving targets by driving negotiations.Minimum 12+ Years of Experience, largely in Sourcing.industry intelligence in own domain and keep up with the technology trends.Exposure to Carry out negotiations with suppliers for own commodity and facilitating own team
