Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Knowledge about Exhaust Hot End/ Cold end, Precious metals & its processes etc

• Conduct thorough scouting of potential suppliers for proprietary  components like Exhaust etc.
• Perform detailed industry mapping to identify leading suppliers and emerging trends.
• Evaluate suppliers based on technical capabilities, cost, quality, and sustainability.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and innovation.
• Lead price negotiations, ensuring competitive pricing aligns with company standards and budget.
• Regularly update costing models to reflect market conditions and supplier pricing.
• Assess financial health and risk indicators of suppliers to mitigate potential supply chain risks.
• Identify and implement cost reduction ideas during negotiations.
• Develop plans for cost savings without compromising quality or delivery timelines. •
• Collaborate with engineering and product development teams on value engineering opportunities.
• Exhibit strong negotiation skills for favorable terms and pricing from suppliers.
• Maintain robust relationships with suppliers for smooth negotiations and long-term partnerships.
• Implement strategies for effective price containment aligned with cost management objectives.
• Devise sourcing strategies considering current and future business needs and industry dynamics.
• Conduct benchmarking studies to compare technology and prices across the industry. • Use benchmarking data for informed decision-making to ensure competitiveness.
• Demonstrate strong coordination and communication skills within cross-functional teams.
• Engage with suppliers to ensure compliance with ESG guidelines.
• Conduct capacity planning and signoff with critical suppliers to ensure smooth supplies.
• Regularly update prices to ensure accuracy, considering RM and Forex indexing.
• Provide support to other business units, including spares. • Develop differential sourcing strategies.

Education Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Engineering

General Experience

Candidates should possess 3 to 6 years of progressive experience in purchasing / Development within manufacturing environments, preferably within the automotive or heavy machinery sectors.

Critical Experience

Proficiency in SAP software is mandatory to efficiently handle procurement workflows, inventory tracking, and supplier management within integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) environments.

Hands-on experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems is expected, enabling robust planning, tracking, and execution of procurement activitie.

Demonstrated capability in analyzing data and generating comprehensive Management Information System (MIS) reports is desirable.
Strong communication skills and ability to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to maintain uninterrupted material flow under tight schedules are critical to excel in this role.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic production context are essential. The role demands proactive problem-solving abilities and strong interpersonal communication to navigate cross-department collaborations and supplier engagements effectively.
