Responsibilities & Key Deliverables


The position is in charge of delivering high quality Market Research output for the Auto Sector, and in timely manner. The role-holder is the key contact for all Research Agencies, as well as being a key point-person for all stakeholders in Marketing, PP, BT and Sales/CC teams.

                        
1) Delivery of high quality Market Research output, in line with an agreed Research Brief, and within time and cost guidelines. Take ownership of the data and seek to present explanations of output which tie-in with other data sources.                            
2) Driving results coming out of Market Research with stakeholders. Working closely with the Insights team to build strong recommended Action Plans for the Brand team and other stakeholders. Organising Action-Planning Workshops as required.                            
3) Maintain great relationships with MR Agencies and nurture great partnerships. Also ensure Research costs are negotiated well.                            
4) Always look to experiment with new and emerging technologies. Create Pilots so that new methodologies may be applied effectively. Provide technical explanations for complex Market Research techniques when called for.                            
5) Manage and nurture the team. Ensure retention and growth for team members.                            
6) Delivering market research projects within committed timelines, while adhering to strict processes and maintaining high-quality standards. Maintaining good communication with internal stakeholders on output expectations, timelines etc.

Education Qualification

MBA from a good college. Exposure to Maths at Under-grad level preferred.

General Experience

Should have 12-15 years experience post MBA. Should have worked on both Agency and Client-side. Strong Quantitative Research experience a must, and should have adequate exposure to Qualitative Research. Some Auto exposure and / or auto passion is a must. Experience in Marketing roles will be a bonus.

Critical Experience

Critical Experiences 

  • Research Agency - Successful experience at agency side, of handling a group of clients - at least 2-3 years            
  • Client -Market Research / Insights Manager in a large Company - exposure to different types of research. Automotive experience preferred. At least 2 yrs.  

Primary Skills-Functional   

  • Strong Quantitative skills - comfort with numbers. Adequate exposure to Statistics and Multi-variate analyses commonly used in MR                
  • Strong Negotiation skills. Able to negotiate costs as well as timelines well with both Agencies and internal stakeholders                
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills - stands his/her ground in the face of opposition                
  • Some understanding of advanced analytics and cutting-edge disciplines like neuroscience
