Deputy Manager - Outbound Logistics, HO

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

To manage freight rate masters, route evaluation, and cost analysis for finished vehicle outbound logistics, ensuring accurate SAP data maintenance, budget planning, and MIS reporting to support cost-effective and efficient vehicle distribution across India.

• Manage freight rate masters, route evaluations, and commercial approvals.
• Analyze freight costs and support budgeting for freight, revenue, and logistics capex.
• Monitor freight spend, transit performance, and operational KPIs through MIS and dashboards.
• Support vehicle dispatch planning and coordinate with Sales Planning, Plant, and Stockyard teams for timely deliveries.
• Review transit times, identify delays, and drive route and network optimization initiatives.
• Track and monitor transporter SLAs covering TAT, vehicle availability, damages, and compliance.
• Conduct transporter performance reviews and support vendor empanelment, renewals, and negotiations.
• Evaluate road, rail, and multimodal transport options to improve cost and service efficiency.
• Manage transit damage claims, statutory compliance, and audit documentation.
• Coordinate with stockyards and C&F partners on inventory ageing, space utilization, and dispatch priorities.
• Prepare management reports on freight spend, budget variances, SLA performance, and logistics metrics.Maintain data integrity and master records in SAP, Power BI, and operational databases.

Preferred Industries

Education Qualification

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce, or related field
• 3 years of experience in outbound/finished vehicle logistics in automotive or related industry
• Prior exposure to SAP and Power BI is mandatory/preferred

General Experience

• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong proficiency in Power BI (dashboard creation, DAX, data modeling)
• Working knowledge of SAP, particularly logistics/freight-related modules
• Sound understanding of Indian geography (states, districts, regional transport corridors) relevant to vehicle dispatch planning
• Industry knowledge of outbound automotive/vehicle logistics (carriers, modes — rail/road, transporter ecosystem)
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail for cost computations and SLA tracking
