Manager - Material Circularity

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  • Implement strategies to enhance the circularity of materials used in our automotive manufacturing processes
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Design/R&D/Sourcing) to develop and execute initiatives aimed at increasing use of recycled content/low carbon alternatives and recycling of materials throughout the product lifecycle
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, market & peer best practices in terms of technologies, cost, scale & review of regulations/compliances related to sustainable materials and circular economy principles in the automotive industry
  • Develop short-medium term strategies to promote material circularity within the value chain
  • Lead cross-functional teams and projects focused on material circularity, providing guidance, support, and expertise to achieve objectives efficiently & effectively with alignment to business priorities & commitments
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, recyclers, and other stakeholders to facilitate the sourcing and recovery of materials for reuse or recycling
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material circularity performance across all stages of the product lifecycle, from design and manufacturing to end-of-life disposal

Education Qualification

Bachelor's degree in engineering, sustainability, environmental science, or related field (advanced degree preferred)

General Experience

 

  • Total Experience: 5 - 7 years
  • Proven experience in materials management, sustainability, circular economy, or related field, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing industry
  • Strong understanding of sustainable materials, recycling processes, and environmental regulations
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, understanding of lifecycle assessment process & tools and drive data-driven decision-making
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive environmental impact through innovative solutions
