Supplier Quality & Risk Management (Indirect Sourcing)

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Supplier Qualification and Assessment:- Shortlist vendors for Quality & Risk assessment based on defined criteria and business needs.- Conduct comprehensive supplier assessments of indirect vendors within the QCDS framework, utilizing industry best practices and standardized assessment tools.- Evaluate supplier performance using advanced assessment tools and methodologies, including on-site audits, process reviews, and data analysis.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Legal, IT Security, Finance) to identify, evaluate, and qualify new indirect suppliers, ensuring alignment with company policies and risk tolerance levels.- Draft and release comprehensive assessment reports, including clear recommendations and risk ratings.
Supplier Performance Management:- Develop and manage supplier quality scorecards and performance metrics, tracking key indicators such as defect rates, on-time delivery, and service levels.- Monitor supplier performance against agreed-upon KPIs and SLAs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective action plans.- Conduct regular performance reviews with key suppliers to discuss performance, address issues, and drive continuous improvement.
Risk Management:- Liaise with external agencies for independent risk assessments, incorporating findings into the overall supplier risk profile.- Identify and assess potential risks within the indirect supply chain, including financial, operational, regulatory, and reputational risks.- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of potential disruptions.- Monitor industry trends and emerging risks, integrating relevant strategies into the supplier quality & risk assessment function.
Continuous Improvement:- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in supplier quality processes, leveraging best practices and innovative solutions to enhance supplier performance.- Ongoing review and revisions in assessment questionnaires and processes to ensure relevance and effectiveness.- Develop detailed category-wise KPIs for suppliers, aligned with business objectives.- Drive process excellence by supporting the standardization of vendors and processes, promoting synergies across the organization.
Relationship Management & Communication:- Serve as the primary point of contact for supplier quality-related issues, facilitating communication and resolution.- Act as the point of contact for both internal and external customers regarding assessment issues.- Liaise positively and professionally with all vendors and user departments.
Documentation & Compliance:Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of supplier assessments, audits, performance data, and corrective action plans.Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 27001).Ensure the effective management and update of all relevant databases and maintaining systematic filing system

Experience

- 5-7 years of experience in supplier quality assessment and procurement processes, particularly with indirect vendors.- Experience in conducting supplier audits and managing corrective action plans.- Familiarity with risk management frameworks and methodologies.

Industry Preferred

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.Certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, CQM) or risk management (e.g., CRISC) are a plus.
