Manager Product Planning - LMM

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  • Conduct market studies, Customer clinics, customer interaction programs, field visits, dipstick exercises, surveys, and voice-of-customer initiatives.
  • Facilitate primary and secondary market research for targeted segments, applications, and customer groups with External agencies.
  • Study customer needs, usage behavior, purchase drivers, ownership expectations, and pain points across relevant products and segments.
  • Support Product Planning leads in evaluating future product concepts, variants, and technology initiatives from a technical and strategic perspective.
  • Conduct detailed competitive benchmarking covering product specifications, dimensions, performance parameters, features, powertrain options, and positioning.
  • Assess technical feasibility of proposed product improvements and new product ideas in coordination with engineering and related cross-functional teams.
  • Review and analyze vehicle architecture, system compatibility, packaging constraints, and implementation implications for proposed initiatives along with Advance engineering.
  • Carry out Proof-of -concepts, technical evaluations for product and ecosystem with Product Planning leads.
  • Support identification of product gaps by comparing current offerings against competition and market expectations.
  • Work with engineering, validation, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, and homologation teams to gather technical inputs required for product planning decisions.
  • Prepare structured benchmarking reports, technical evaluation summaries, and recommendation notes for management review.
  • Track industry developments in technology, regulations, competitive product actions, and emerging trends relevant to the automotive segment.
  • Support management presentations and internal reviews related to product concepts, technical differentiation, and future planning proposals.
