Senior Manager- Indirect Taxation

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Tax Litigation & Regulatory Interface
- Scrutinize and manage notices, inquiries, investigations, and show‑cause cum demand notices issued by tax authorities across India.
- Draft, review, and finalize replies, submissions, appeals, and represent the company in adjudication, appellate proceedings, and personal hearings.
- Liaise with tax authorities through departmental visits and ensure timely and compliant closure of matters.
Leadership & Risk Management
- Provide periodic updates to leadership on key tax matters, challenges, potential financial exposure, and mitigation strategies.
- Validate and prepare contingent liability and other tax-related disclosures for financial statements and MIS.
Legal & Expert Coordination
- Collaborate with external legal counsels and tax advisors to manage litigation, appeals, and complex tax positions.
- Oversee administrative aspects such as bonds, bank guarantees, PoAs, authorizations, and vendor/counsel billing.
Case Management & Documentation
- Track litigation and appeals across forums using the litigation portal or trackers.
- Maintain accurate, audit‑ready records and documentation for all disputes.
Business Advisory & Process Enablement
- Advise business teams on tax positions, risks, and compliance requirements.
- Support SOP reviews, SAP process improvements, HSN/SAC classification, and automation initiatives.
- Identify compliance gaps and propose tax optimization and efficiency measures.
Advocacy & Stakeholder Support
- Support government advocacy initiatives directly or through industry forums.
- Assist internal teams and external stakeholders (vendors, customers, dealers) on tax-related queries and compliance matters.
Knowledge & Capability Building
- Stay current on legislative changes, regulations, and judicial precedents.
- Drive knowledge‑sharing sessions and communicate key impacts to stakeholders.

Education Qualification
CA or CMA/Post Graduation with LLB with hands-on exposure to IDT compliances and accounting practices
General Experience
12-15 years
Critical Experience
Sound Knowledge of Law & Procedure related to GST, Customs, Excise & Service Tax including expert understanding of rules/principles in Classification of Goods/Services, SAP Systems & processes, Finance & Accounting principles
Exceptional understanding/ Interpretation of Laws, Knowledge of various Customs regulations, including FTP and FTAs, Excellent drafting skillsets, Communication and IT skills, Data Analytical Skills.
