The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is responsible to ensure that the organisation is identifying, assessing, and mitigating various potential risks across the organization. This is done by developing and implementing a comprehensive risk management framework to proactively protect the company's strategic goals and financial stability by analysing various internal and external factors that could impact operations.
The Group Risk Office (GRO), a central function, assists and oversees group businesses in ensuring robust risk policy, framework, processes and reporting of risks. Apart from this, GRO also helps businesses to navigate external risks like geopolitical risks by helping them to track various external events and how the businesses could get impacted.
Currently we are looking to hire an associate at middle / senior management level for the GRO. The job description of the associate would be:
- Formulating Risk policy / risk framework in line with organisational strategy, risk appetite and changing external environment
- Working with group businesses in identification, assessment and mitigation plan for current / emerging risks
- Assisting more group businesses to onboard into the group Risk framework / processes.
- Tracking external parameters – such as macroeconomic, country and industry parameters to highlight potential risks to group businesses;
- Periodic communication to Board and senior management on robustness of risk processes, highlighting key risks and mitigation steps;
- Creating thought papers on emerging risks, in consultation with other functions, to help businesses evaluate its impact on their businesses
This job requires the associate to interact with various group businesses at mid-to-senior levels; some of the skill levels required are:
- Strategic thinking and ability to see the big picture and connecting the external events to assess business impact
- Ability to analyse financial statements and identify key business drivers
- Understanding of macroeconomic and geopolitical trends
- Willingness to explore new areas and build knowledge rapidly
- Inclination to research and ability to filter noise from meaningful information
- Ability to engage with stakeholders across levels and influence thought process and change
Educational qualification and experience required:
- MBA or C.A. or similar professional qualifications
- 6-10 years of prior experience (post MBA/C.A.)
- Prior work in strategy, risk functions would be an advantage, but not mandatory
