MANAGER - GROUP LEGAL SERVICES

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

We are looking for a legal resource with 4–5 years of post-qualification experience to provide legal support and guidance to manufacturing and processing operations and allied functions such as procurement, supply chain, EHS, logistics, HR, administration, etc.

The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of manufacturing and commercial contracts, advising on regulatory and compliance matters and supporting the business in managing contractual and legal risks across the value chain.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on various types of contracts, including, manufacturing and operational contracts, supply and procurement agreements, vendor, distributor, dealer, logistics agreements, services agreements, lease, leave and license, warehousing, and infrastructure-related agreements etc.
  • Advise on wide range of laws and regulations, including, factory laws and labour compliance, environmental, health and safety (EHS) regulations, licensing, local and state regulatory requirements etc.
  • Business partnering and proactively engaging with the business teams to understand their needs, resolve issues, implement best practices etc.
  • Ensure contracts and operations are aligned with group policies, internal governance standards, and risk management frameworks.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual, regulatory, and operational risks, and escalate material issues appropriately.
  • Coordinate with external counsels on litigation, regulatory matters, etc., when required.
  • Keep abreast of legal developments and commercial best practices.

Experience

4–5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably as in-house counsel or with exposure to manufacturing industry.

Industry Preferred

Qualifications

  • LLB/LLM degree from a reputed university.
  • 4–5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably as in-house counsel or with exposure to manufacturing industry.
  • Sound working knowledge of Indian business environment and related legalities

General Requirements

  • Excellent legal skills including drafting and negotiating contracts and strategic management of contractual disputes.
  • Capability of detailed, in-depth analysis of legal documents and of work situations that have a legal dimension.
  • Ability to turn around enquiries quickly and tackle issues at short notice.
  • Excellent written and oral communications, including the ability to work effectively with a range of people and the ability to deliver advice in a clear and user-friendly way.
  • High influencing and negotiation skills
  • A ‘can do’ attitude with a readiness to ‘roll your sleeves up’ and get down to tackling and resolving issues and producing excellent outcomes
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a practical, business-oriented approach to legal risk.
