Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

'The key expectation from the person in this role is to act as in-house counsel delivering high quality, comprehensive, authoritative legal service. It is essential that the person develops and maintains excellent relationships with internal customers (business leaders) to become a legal business partner. Key responsibilities include :
A)    Providing Legal Services to Businesses
            a) Providing a comprehensive and high quality in-house legal service, across a broad range of legal issues to internal        customers within the organization
            b)    Drafting and negotiation of contracts, management of contractual disputes and efforts for resolution of the same.
            c)    Management and resolution of other contentious issues, to a satisfactory conclusion, whenever they occur.
            d)    Detailed, in-depth analysis of legal documents and of work situations that have a legal dimension.
            e)    Ensuring all customer activities are in line with legal requirements and meets specifications within the organization and risks are mitigated appropriately. 
            f)    Proactive engagement with business teams to: 
                (i)Identification of the issues while advising and then introducing processes and monitoring mechanism.
                (ii)Developing and implementing best practices from other similar industries, organize and conduct awareness sessions etc.

'B)    Handling Pre-Litigation matters
    Handle dealer issues, pre-litigation customer issues and other legal issues pertaining to various Area Offices / Zonal Offices of the Company.

Experience

•    Experience as an in-house lawyer or similar position for 6 to 8 years.
•    Sound working knowledge of Indian business environment and related legalities.
•    Auto Industry Experience of around 2-3 years will be an added advantage

Qualifications

Essential
•    Qualified lawyer – LLM/LLB.
•    Experience of working as a legal practitioner for 3 - 5 years. 

Functional skills required to execute the role

'•    Ability to clearly identify legal issues and risks through proper inquiry, look at a problem from multiple perspectives and provide legal advice accordingly.
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders across levels and deliver legal advice in a clear and user-friendly way.
•    High attention to detail and evaluation skills to perform detailed, in-depth analysis of legal documents and of work situations that have a legal dimension.
•    High influencing and negotiation skills
•    Ability to deal with high complexity and ambiguity and stakeholder management in a complex organization structure.
•    Ability to work in a team.
