Deputy General Manager - Building, Utilities & Other Infrastructure (Electrical)

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Purpose of the role:
Lead the planning, design, execution, commissioning, operation and continual improvement of Electrical Infrastructure, Power Distribution Systems, Utilities and Building Services for the Greenfield Automotive Manufacturing Facility. Ensure electrical infrastructure readiness for SOP, reliable power availability post SOP, energy efficiency, statutory compliance and future expansion readiness.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead planning, design, execution, commissioning and operationalization of complete electrical infrastructure for the manufacturing facility.
- Develop electrical utility master plans, load assessments, power distribution philosophy and future capacity roadmaps.
- Execute HT/LT systems, substations, transformers, DG systems, PCCs, MCCs, UPS systems and utility distribution networks within approved quality, cost and delivery targets.
- Drive engineering reviews, value engineering and technology selection to optimize lifecycle cost, reliability and energy efficiency.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, IE, SCM, Finance, Civil and Mechanical teams to ensure infrastructure readiness and SOP achievement.
- Lead consultant, contractor and vendor development and performance management.
- Ensure reliable power availability, asset utilization and utility support after SOP.
- Drive TPM, predictive maintenance, energy management and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Monitor power demand, energy consumption and utility efficiency and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, electrical safety, environmental and factory regulations.
- Coordinate with Electrical Inspectorate, DISCOMs and regulatory authorities for approvals and compliance.
- Lead contractor safety governance, risk assessments and emergency preparedness systems.
- Drive sustainability initiatives including energy conservation and renewable energy integration.
- Control Capex and operating budgets while driving cost optimization.
- Build technical capability, succession pipeline and continuous improvement culture.
- Support future expansion, modernization and debottlenecking projects.
Experience
15-20 years including Greenfield manufacturing projects, electrical infrastructure development, power distribution systems and utility commissioning.
Industry Preferred
Automotive OEM, Auto Component, Industrial Manufacturing, Heavy Engineering and EPC Projects.
Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech Electrical Engineering.Expereince in Greenfield will be an added advantage
