Deputy Manager - Tractor

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  • Lead and manage the assembly manufacturing team ensuring effective cost control by enhancing productivity on production lines, focusing on minimizing scrap, consumables, and labor costs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor departmental budget plans to ensure financial targets are met and cost-efficiency is maintained.
  • Drive SPR (Standardized Process Rate) improvements to achieve and sustain levels above 90%, reinforcing quality and process efficiency.
  • Analyze defect data systematically and develop robust countermeasures to reduce quality issues and enhance product reliability.
  • Conduct thorough market complaint analysis, ensuring effective resolution, root cause identification, and continuous monitoring to improve customer satisfaction and product quality.
  • Oversee control of PQCDSM (Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Morale) metrics within the assembly manufacturing operations to meet organizational objectives and customer expectations.
  • Ensure timely delivery of products adhering to production plans, coordinating closely with cross-functional teams including internal departments, external partners, and vendors to facilitate improvements.
  • Lead the successful establishment of new products and implement mass production setups, ensuring seamless transitions and operational readiness.
  • Adhere to and enforce comprehensive training schedules for both workers and staff, focusing on skill enhancement, compliance, and safety protocols.
  • Manage daily manpower requirements effectively, resolving conflicts and fostering a harmonious work environment that promotes collaboration and productivity.
  • Motivate, inspire, and provide performance feedback to team members and subordinates, supporting their professional development and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Perform gap analysis to identify factors contributing to production losses, quality deviations, and equipment breakdowns, implementing corrective and preventive measures promptly.
  • Coordinate synchronization of parts for various tractor models, ensuring accurate inventory and supply chain alignment to streamline production processes.

Education Qualification

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical and Electronics or related disciplines such as Bachelors of Technology in Electrical and Electronics. A strong educational foundation in engineering principles is essential to understand the technical complexities involved in tractor manufacturing and assembly processes.

Academic credentials should demonstrate analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a solid grasp of manufacturing technologies relevant to the tractor division within the agriculture machinery sector.

Additional certifications or training in manufacturing management, quality control, or lean manufacturing methodologies will be considered advantageous, reflecting commitment to continuous learning and industry best practices.

General Experience

Recommended experience for this Deputy Manager role ranges from 3 to 7 years within manufacturing environments, ideally in sectors related to heavy machinery, agriculture equipment, or automotive assembly.

Candidates should have hands-on experience in cost control initiatives, production line management, quality assurance processes, and team leadership. Exposure to budget planning, defect analysis, and process optimization is crucial for success in this role.

  • Effective manpower and conflict management skills, with experience in fostering a positive, inclusive and motivating work culture.
  • Ability to perform gap analyses covering production loss, quality issues, and breakdowns, developing comprehensive action plans to improve operational efficiency.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, essential for synchronizing parts management across various models and for ensuring smooth production workflows.
