Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Purpose of the role:

Lead planning, execution, commissioning and operational readiness of Electrical Infrastructure and Utilities for Paint Shop during Greenfield project phase and ensure reliable electrical operations and energy-efficient utility management post SOP.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning, execution and commissioning of electrical infrastructure and utility systems for Paint Shop during the Greenfield project phase, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budget targets and SOP requirements.
  • Drive development and installation of HT/LT distribution systems, transformers, substations, MCCs, PCCs, VFDs, UPS systems, lighting networks and process electrical infrastructure supporting Paint Shop operations.
  • Review electrical layouts, load calculations, single line diagrams (SLDs), cable routing plans and technical specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements, statutory regulations and future expansion needs.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, Process Engineering, Mechanical, Civil and Project teams to ensure electrical infrastructure readiness for equipment installation, commissioning and production ramp-up activities.
  • Manage consultants, contractors, vendors and service providers to achieve project objectives related to safety, quality, cost and delivery while ensuring compliance with approved engineering standards and schedules.
  • Ensure reliable electrical support for paint booths, HVAC systems, chilled water systems, ventilation systems, environmental control systems and other critical Paint Shop utilities.
  • Establish preventive maintenance, TPM and reliability improvement systems for electrical assets to ensure uninterrupted operations, improved equipment availability and optimized lifecycle performance post SOP.
  • Monitor power consumption, electrical asset performance and utility KPIs, and drive energy conservation, cost optimization and continuous improvement initiatives across Paint Shop facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety requirements, statutory regulations, inspections, audits and environmental compliance obligations throughout project and operational phases.
  • Support capacity enhancement, technology upgradation, infrastructure modernization and future expansion projects to meet evolving business and manufacturing requirements.

Experience

10-15 Years in relevant field 

Industry Preferred

Automotive OEM / Auto Component / Manufacturing / EPC Projects 

Qualifications

B.E. / B.Tech Electrical Engineering
