Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

As the Deputy Manager MQA TCF at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest quality standards during the Total Customer Focus (TCF) assembly processes. Your responsibilities will involve overseeing quality assurance, monitoring compliance at every stage of assembly, and leading initiatives to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Quality Oversight: Ensure that each stage of TCF assembly meets stringent internal and external quality standards, performing regular checks and audits to maintain compliance.
  • Defect Management: Lead efforts in root cause analysis when defects are identified at both in-line and end-of-line stages, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Process Audits: Conduct thorough audits of assembly processes to verify compliance with established procedures, including but not limited to Torque, EST, Poka Yoke methodologies, and 1D audits.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a diverse team of quality engineers and inspectors, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluation.
  • Customer Interface: Serve as the primary point of contact for addressing and resolving customer quality concerns and warranty feedback associated with TCF.
  • Data Analysis: Monitor and analyse key quality metrics such as FTBO, RPT, and COPQ, leveraging this data to drive improvement initiatives.
  • Compliance Assurance: Uphold compliance with quality management systems like IATF 16949 and ISO 9001, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various teams including production, logistics, engineering, and SQA to address quality challenges and enhance product integrity.

Key Deliverables:

  • Lead initiatives to enhance quality metrics including Offline RPT and Online RPT, driving partnership among stakeholders to elevate manufacturing quality.
  • Achieve targeted reductions in COPQ, implementing quality improvement plans systematically.
  • Manage Mfg. Quality Improvement initiatives focused on operator defects, preventive maintenance, and standardisation of processes.

Experience

The ideal candidate for this role will possess 5-8 years of progressive experience in automotive quality assurance, with an emphasis on Total Customer Focus principles. This experience should demonstrate a successful track record in aligning product quality to exceed customer expectations through proactive communication, timely issue resolution, and a commitment to data-driven continuous improvement.

In addition to a strong foundation in quality assurance, you should have expertise in areas such as CMM operations, GD&T, and blueprint reading. A thorough understanding of BIW structures and welding processes, along with regulatory compliance standards, including IATF 16949 and ISO 9001, will be essential. Furthermore, you will be recognised for your ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams to enhance First Time Right Quality metrics, thereby reducing warranty issues and ensuring customer satisfaction from the early development phases through to post-production.

Industry Preferred

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in the automotive industry, specifically in roles focused on quality management and assurance. Previous roles held at industry leaders in automotive manufacturing, automotive engineering services, or related sectors that emphasise a strong commitment to quality would be advantageous.

Your background should ideally include exposure to collaborative environments where continuous improvement methodologies are championed. Familiarity with the latest advancements in automotive technologies and quality frameworks will be highly regarded.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BE / B Tech) is required. Additional certifications in quality management such as Six Sigma Green Belt, Quality Auditor certifications, or relevant quality assurance training will be considered a significant asset. Your educational background should reflect a strong foundation in mechanical, automotive, or industrial engineering principles, equipping you with the skills necessary to excel in this role.
