Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Role – Head Application, Industrial application

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

1. Customer Application & Technical Interface

  • Lead engagement with OEMs (construction, mining, material handling, agri equipment)
  • Understand customer duty cycle, load curves, environment & application requirements
  • Provide engine selection, derating philosophy, and configuration guidelines
  • Act as primary technical face to customers for application issues.
  • Engine Integration and System engineering. – Ensure the proper integration of engine Subsystem like -Cooling, Air intake. Fuel system.Electrical/ECU, Mount system etc
  • Validate installation against design standards and field conditions

2.  Testing, Validation & Field Performance

  • Define and approve:
    • Validation plans (DVP)
    • Endurance / field trials
    • Performance testing
  • Analyze:
    • Failures (like bracket failures, vibration issues – relevant to your current case)
    • Reliability trends and improvement actions
  • Ensure product meets durability targets in harsh duty cycles

4. Issue Resolution & Root Cause Ownership

  • Lead cross-functional teams for:
    • Field complaints
    • Warranty failures
    • Chronic application issues
  • Drive:
    • RCA (Root Cause Analysis)
    • PCA / CA implementation
  • Coordinate with design, quality, and supplier teams

5. Product Development & Customization

  • Provide Voice of Customer (VOC) inputs to R&D
  • Support:
    • New engine application programs
    • Customization for specific OEM requirements
  • Drive improvements in:
    • Thermal management
    • Vibration / NVH
    • Packaging constraints

6. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with:
    • Sales & marketing (RFQ / technical proposals)
    • Manufacturing (fitment feasibility)
    • Service team (field feedback, retrofit actions)
    • Align internal teams with customer timelines

7. Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead PAE / Application Engineering team
  • Allocate resources across projects
  • Develop team competence in:
    • Simulation / validation
    • Field troubleshooting
  • Ensure project delivery on time and within budget
  •  Documentation & Process Management

8. Business & Program Management

  • Support business growth via:
    • New application development
    • Customer retention
  • Monitor:
    • Program timelines
    • Cost vs budget
    • Risk mitigation
