Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Lead the design & development of suspension systems for commercial vehicles, ensuring compliance with performance, durability, safety, and regulatory requirements. Responsible to deliver complete Suspension System ensuring QCD (Quality, Cost & Delivery) parameters & optimization through simulation, testing, and analysis. Oversee ride and handling characteristics optimization through simulation, testing, and analysis. Collaborate with chassis, vehicle dynamics, and NVH teams to enhance ride comfort and handling stability. Perform and validate leaf spring calculations, material selection, and structural integrity assessments. Guide a team of engineers in developing innovative suspension architectures, ensuring cost-effective and manufacturable solutions. Work closely with suppliers, manufacturing, and testing teams for successful prototype and production launches. Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory standards to drive innovation in commercial vehicle suspension design, Propose technology roadmap for the organization on Suspension Systems. |
Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering. 15+ years of experience in Suspension system design and development for LCVs, HCVs, and Buses. |

General Requirements
1. In-depth knowledge of design of different types of suspensions like Multileaf, Parabolic, Bogie Suspension, Lift Axle Suspension & Air suspension. 2. Strong expertise in ride & handling dynamics, leaf spring design & calculations, system level performance calculation. Knowledge of suspension kinematics, compliance, and structural analysis techniques. 3. Failure analysis and problem solving skills 4. Sheet metal, castings & forgings design and manufacturing process knowledge. 5. Understanding of global regulatory standards and homologation requirements. 6. GD&T 7. Know how of Ride and handling, Vehicle dynamics Software Skills & Qualifications: CAD knowledge (Catia & Team centre PLM) Hands-on experience with CAE tools (e.g., Adams, Abaqus, ANSYS) and multi-body dynamics simulations is added advantage |
