Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
- Lead the end-to-end development and integration of HVAC systems for commercial vehicles, ensuring optimal thermal comfort, energy efficiency, and packaging within vehicle platforms.
- Define system requirements based on Indian climatic conditions, customer expectations, and regulatory standards.
- Perform and supervise thermal load calculations, CFD simulations, and airflow analysis to optimize HVAC system performance.
- Lead Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) sessions to proactively identify and mitigate potential system failures.
- Develop and execute detailed validation plans including climatic chamber testing, durability testing, and on-road validation reflecting Indian terrain and environmental conditions.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to troubleshoot and resolve HVAC system issues during development and production phases.
- Collaborate with controls, electrical, body, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless HVAC system integration and calibration.
- Manage supplier partnerships for component development, testing, and quality assurance.
- Ensure compliance with automotive HVAC regulations, refrigerant environmental standards, and Indian automotive norms.
- Mentor and guide technical teams on HVAC design and problem-solving methodologies.
- Participate in cross-functional design reviews, project status updates, and risk management activities.
Experience
8–14 years of progressive HVAC system design and development experience in commercial vehicles, with strong exposure to Indian market applications.
Industry Preferred
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related discipline.
