Internal Job Description

As the Manager of Materials Management in the Construction Equipment division at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, your key responsibilities and accountabilities will include:

  • Should have Knowledge for vendor development department functions.
  • Product knowledge of Construction Equipment vehicles.
  • Development of electrical and electronics parts.
  • Evaluate the technical feasibility & manufacturing capability for new product stated in RFQ/SOR/SOW.
  • Collaborate with COE / CAD designers to determine the viability of product subsystems (How./Sw.& Mechanical) & interface components.
  • Monitor & track tooling timelines & progress, ensuring adherence to project schedules.
  • Responsible for providing support to supplier partners to define part manufacturing processes & its evaluation for meeting cycle time.
  • Identify & resolve technical issues during the development process.
  • Coordinate and manage DV/PV testing to meet DVP R&R standards.
  • Conduct regular APQP for new product & ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate with supplier partners for documentation, submission of PPAP and joint PTR with SQE.
  • Monitor & control change management.
  • Coordinate & participate with COE, supplier partners & production team for part level calibration & EOL set-up activities.
  • Responsible for identification and selection of vendors with coordinating SSU.
  • Negotiations with vendors on delivery time as per project requirements.
  • Take a lead role in enriching technical aspects of design and development throughout the product development life cycle in the area of electrical system to meet performance, reliability, quality and cost objectives of the program.
  • Arrange electrical system parts for prototype machines; modify parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations.
  • Proactive role in optimizing performance, reliability and cost targets of electrical system through systematic reviews.
  • Deploy MPDS and MQS all through the product development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of SAP-MM module for CDMM function.

PPL Role:

  • Provide Product/Project inputs for preparing Business case & Mfg. strategy.
  • Accountable for final budget with assumptions.
  • Prepare MIS for the department and follow-up with all concerned CDMM team members for closers and ensure closers as per project requirements.
  • Knowledge of Project Gateways for CDMM deliverables. Plan and lead the onsite build activities at all gateways, inclusive part availability, in coordination with respective stakeholders.
  • Periodic review with the CFT team for timely resolution of concerns.
  • Accountable for timely closure of make vs buy decision.
  • Arrangement of supplier panel from SSU.
  • Timely closure of DFM, RFQ release, VOB, PPSO, etc up to PHSO.
  • Single point interface for manuf. of vehicle/aggregates/PTD for the vehicle.
  • Timely and effective execution of FTG (incl. plant infra) for the project.
  • Ensure sign-off and ROCM – in case of project scope and engineering change.
  • Timely handover of the project to launch team with desired quality.
  • Budget tracking and monitoring.
  • Timely escalation for closure of strategic issues.
