PPl - Sheet Metal MStar Platform
Pune, Pune (FD), IN
Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As the TCP for the Sheet Metal MStar Platform, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless end-to-end delivery of projects related to your commodity. This involves overseeing multiple facets of project management and coordination to align technical, quality, and timeline objectives. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Project Management and Coordination: Lead the project lifecycle by ensuring technical signoff, synthesizing accurate and competitive quotes, and strictly adhering to established project timelines. You will actively engage in project feasibility studies, conducting thorough risk assessments, and partnering with stakeholders to meet targeted goals.
- Cost, Quality, and Delivery (QCD): Drive initiatives to meet material cost objectives and adhere to budget constraints. Ensure that all components conform to high-quality standards and that production processes meet manufacturability and tooling feasibility requirements. Collaborate closely with suppliers to guarantee their capability to meet QCD commitments.
- Process and Compliance: Follow and enforce MPDS gateways, ensuring all necessary PPAP and PSW approvals are completed efficiently. Provide ongoing support to Centres of Excellence (COEs) to maintain compliance with relevant industry regulations and internal standards.
- Capacity and Volume Planning: Monitor and ensure that part capacity corresponds with projected production volumes. Work closely with design teams to achieve first-time-right delivery, optimising production flow and reducing rework.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Keep comprehensive records and analyse project milestones and metrics, preparing and presenting Management Information Systems (MIS) reports regularly. Prioritize and track critical project indicators such as HIHR, MIMR, and LILR, coordinating with delivery teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Support and Collaboration: Act as a liaison to obtain required support from the Home Commodity teams, particularly in meeting TCP deliverables. Assist COEs in technical sign-offs and provide practical solutions to challenges arising during the project lifecycle.
- Use of Discretion and Escalation: Exercise sound judgement in escalating delayed Statement of Requirements (SOR) releases to the CPH via PPH, escalate part development delays to PPH and Commodity Heads for effective debottlenecking, and promptly flag any Operational Readiness Check (ORC) issues to the Design Team and PPH regarding Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
Experience
The ideal candidate should hold a B Tech / BE degree with a significant experience range of 7 to 10 years within the relevant domain. Alternatively, candidates with an M Tech qualification and 5 to 7 years of professional experience will also be considered.
Experience in project management, technical coordination within automotive or farm equipment industries, and a strong understanding of sheet metal design and manufacturing processes will be vital for success. Proven capabilities in handling complex projects with multi-disciplinary teams and suppliers are highly desirable.
Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a track record of delivering projects within defined quality, cost, and schedule targets. Proficiency in project documentation, risk assessment techniques, and familiarity with production standards and compliance frameworks will support effective performance.
Industry Preferred
We prefer candidates with experience in the Automotive and Farm Equipment sectors, which aligns with the nature of our product development focus for the Sheet Metal MStar Platform.
Experience working with vehicle manufacturers, agricultural machinery firms, or tier-one suppliers will provide valuable insight into industry standards, competitive benchmarking, and best practices. Knowledge of material properties related to sheet metal and their applications in robust, high-performance components is advantageous.
Understanding the regulatory environment and quality expectations in these industries will further enhance the candidate's ability to deliver projects that meet both internal and external stakeholder requirements.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have completed a B Tech / BE degree from a recognised university or institute, preferably through a full-time regular course. Possession of an M Tech degree with a specialisation relevant to sheet metal design, manufacturing engineering, or automotive technology is highly desirable.
The qualifications should provide a strong foundation in engineering principles, project management methodologies, and technical problem-solving, enabling the candidate to take ownership of end-to-end project deliveries.
Additional certifications in project management, quality assurance, or supply chain management may be considered advantageous, reflecting a commitment to professional growth and multi-disciplinary expertise.
General Requirements
We expect candidates to possess strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Candidates should be proactive, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively to meet deadlines.
The role requires attention to detail, a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards, and adherence to compliance and safety regulations. Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and openness to feedback is essential.
While travel is not required for this position, the candidate should be comfortable engaging with various internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and COEs. A problem-solving mindset and the ability to escalate critical issues decisively and professionally are imperative.
