Sr. Manager - Indirect Procurement

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Group Indirect Sourcing team (GIST) is aimed at consolidating, negotiating and finalising all the Logistics and Packaging material and services at Mahindra Group level. This special team will empanel suppliers, run RFQ, draft contracts, negotiate and award contracts at AFS level by leveraging strategies to bring synergy and economies of scale so as to deliver maximum value to all the businesses of AFS. The above mentioned Service Contracts include but not limited to Logistics (Inbound,Outbound,Line Feeding, Warehousing), Packaging ( Corrugation, Polymer, Steel, wood), Canteen, Bus Transportation, Legal and Professional Fees, Manpower contracts like Contract manufacturing, Housekeeping, Security, Drivers etc

Role:
Understand the requirements (Scope of Work and SLAs) from various user departments relating to Logistics (Inbound,Outbound,Line Feeding, Warehousing) & Packaging ( Corrugation, Steel, Polymer, wood, returnable) across all the plants of AFS ( Auto - Farm Sector), Spare Parts and Allied Business
"Commercial contract settlement for Outbound Logistics activities:-
1) Outbound Transportation by Car Carrier, Train, Own Power ( Jockey Logistics) for SUV / LCV transportation
2) Outbound Transportation by Flat Bed Trucks, Car Carrier, Own power ( Jockey Logistics), Train for Tractor Transportation
3) Area Stock Yard ( ASY/RSO) manpower contracts and Rental contracts
4) Pre Outbound manpower contracts"
"Commercial contract settlement for Inbound Logistics activities:-
1) Inbound transportation from Vendors to Plants and Inter Plant movment by FTL, PTL, Express Cargo, Air and TRain Mode.
2) Warehousing and Cross Docks
3) In Plant stores and line feeding activities
4) Temp. warehouse settlements"
"Commercial contract settlement for Spare Parts Logistics activities:-
1) Inbound / Outbound transportation from Vendors to Warehouses, Warehouses to Warehouses and Warehouses to Customers by FTL, PTL, Express Cargo, Air and Train Mode
2) Spare Parts Warehousing - 3PL Manpower, Capex and OPex contracts
3) Temp. warehouse settlements"
"Commercial contract settlement for Packaging activities:-
1) Supplier assessment & Price settlement for packaging commodities like corrugation, polybags, VCI, Pine wood, rubber wood, Steel crates/ Skids, returnable packaging, etc
2)Should be costing and negotiations for packaging cost settlement. Identify competent supplier base and develop along with user.
Market intelligence and forecasting of Raw material prices - Commodity price trend tracking and benchmarking.
3) Differential Sourcing Strategy - Benchmarking of Technology and Prices in Industry, innovative packaging solutions, adapting best practices in other industries."
Decide the vendor panel and Float RFQs wherever necessary
Run RFQ process on Ariba / GEP sourcing tool
Receive and Analyse quotes and Decide Target Price
Conduct Negotiations and Achieve Target Price as jointly decided by senior management
Award contracts/Empanel vendors as per approval of senior management and close communication with the user department
Present key updates, issues to senior management and seek support for de bottlenecking wherever required
Liaise with legal department wherever necessary
Comodity ( Paper , Wood, Steel, Fuel / Min. Wages) Indexing calculations and negotiations with vendor
Should be costing and negotiations. 
Identify competent service provider base
Market intelligence  on logistics cost ( Freight and warehousing)
Experience in Logistics Purchasing 
Hands on experience in SAP Ariba sourcing module preffered

Experience

12 Plus Years Experience in Logistics & Packaging Purchasing

Qualifications

Graduate or Post Graduate  with Engineering / Commerce background with good negotiation skills

Maintain current contracts by updating prices,fees and any other service conditions
To ensure the effective management and update of all relevant databases and maintaining systematic filing system

To liaise positively and professionally with all the vendors & user department
Bringing in industry intelligence in own domain & keep up with the technology trends in own domain
