Assistant / Deputy Manager- Supplier Quality

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

•    Develop and implement supplier quality assurance plans.
•    Establish criteria for supplier selection and evaluation.
•    Collaborate with procurement team to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
•    Create and maintain documentation outlining quality standards and expectations for suppliers.
•    Schedule and conduct regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
•    Participate in CFT for drawings & DVP approvals.
•    Communicate quality requirements to suppliers and provide guidance on improvement areas.
•    Investigate and address quality issues identified during supplier audits.
•    Collaborate with suppliers to develop corrective actions when quality standards are not met.
•    Monitor supplier performance and provide feedback to suppliers as necessary.
•    Conduct training sessions for suppliers on quality assurance processes and procedures.
•    Verification of PDI Reports at receipt. 
•    Review supplier performance metrics and analyse trends to identify areas for improvement.
•    Verify compliance with quality standards through regular audits and inspections.
•    Collect and analyse data on supplier quality to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
•    Review supplier documentation and records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
•    Seek feedback from internal stakeholders and customers regarding supplier performance.
•    Establish receipt checking standards for all NPD parts throughout SBU plants.
•    Implement corrective actions and process improvements to address identified quality issues.
•    Update supplier quality assurance plans and procedures based on lessons learned and feedback.
•    Provide recommendations for supplier development and improvement initiatives.
•    Communicate changes in quality standards or requirements to suppliers.
•    Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of supplier quality assurance processes
•    Analyze Warranty failures and Take necessary actions to mitigate warranty failures
•    Facilitate problem solving methodology and ensure closure of product concerns, use of suitable methodology such as QC Story & 8D
•    Ware House Quality assurance process audits and improvements.
Additional Responsibilities:
•    Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory requirements related to supplier quality.
•    Participate in cross-functional teams to address broader quality and supply chain issues.
•    Support the resolution of quality-related customer complaints and inquiries.
•    Assist in the development and implementation of supplier risk management strategies.
•    Participate in IMS audit & document preparation for the same.
•    MIS Compilations.
•    Facilitate Kaizens / QC stories for quality improvement through CFTs.
•    Competency mapping and improvement for Quality/ Operations staff.
•    Conduct IMS internal audits as per MR office schedule and verify NC closures.
•    Conduct Metallurgical analysis for Applicable VF parts and publish MIS.
 

Education Qualification

•    B.E – Mechanical/ Production/ Automobile with 3 to 5 Years experience OR
•    Previous experience in quality assurance or supplier management.
•    Strong understanding of quality management principles and methodologies.

•    Ability to analyse data and make data-driven decisions.
•    Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
•    Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and requirements.
•    Critical skills – QMS (System) Auditing, Report writing & Root Cause Analysis, Quality Training to suppliers & Blue collar staff.

Critical Experience

•    QMS, EMS & OHSAS standards understanding.
•    APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Statistical Analysis 
•    Auditing Skills for System, Process Audits.
•    Strong understanding and hands on experience on usage of 7 QC tools.

•    Basic understanding of automobile and its system working.
•    Well conversant with measuring instrument usage and conducting MSA.
•    SOP writing & Training skills for Quality.
•    Good English communications – Speaking & writing skills.
•    SAP QM modules understanding and usage 
•    Proficiency in MS office.
