Assistant Manager - Machine Shop

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As an Assistant Manager in the Machine Shop division at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the manufacturing processes and ensuring their smooth operation. Your responsibilities will span a wide range of tasks, from staying updated on technological advancements to driving revenue and cost reduction initiatives. You will lead projects, conduct defect identification and root cause analysis, and promote a safe working culture within the team. - Stay updated on the latest technology changes, cutting tool materials, and geometries.
- Conduct training sessions on tools and tooling based on the latest trends.
- Identify opportunities for tool life improvement projects or replacement with alternative technologies.
- Conduct defect identification and root cause analysis.
- Set up new model machining, line setup, and ramp up processes.
- Implement capacity improvements through debottlenecking and other enhancements.
- Work towards implementing a zero-rejection concept in the rejection system.
- Drive revenue and cost reduction initiatives while implementing and practicing improvement ideas.
- Interact with support functions and resolve concerns with the help of cross-functional teams.
- Promote a safe working culture and develop an improvement-oriented mindset among the team.
- Implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in machining processes.
- Lead projects for tool cost reduction, power cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
- Benchmark best practices across plants and industries for manufacturing excellence.
- Ensure compliance with quality systems and review adherence.
- Drive productivity improvements through regular reviews of key performance indicators.

Education Qualification
To qualify for the position of Assistant Manager in the Machine Shop division, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a specialization in Automobile or Production technology. A Bachelor of Technology in Engineering would also be advantageous. Your academic background in these fields will provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in this role.
General Experience
The ideal candidate should have a general experience ranging from 2 to 7 years in a relevant industry or role. This experience will provide you with the practical understanding and expertise required to effectively manage the responsibilities of an Assistant Manager in the Machine Shop division.
