Date:  13 Oct 2026
Location:

Rudrapur, Rudrapur, IN

Company:  Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

1. MES team at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will spearhead the ideation and implementation of shop floor automation technologies. This involves conducting thorough studies of machines and processes to identify optimized solutions that enhance operational efficiency and data accuracy. You will be responsible for understanding and leveraging data inputs from IoT sensors, actuators, and embedded controls, ensuring seamless data collection and integrity at the source.

2.Your role will include developing scenarios for fault prediction and performance enhancement through edge analytics and data normalization techniques. You will drive manufacturing analytics initiatives by designing and consolidating visualization tools and interfaces to facilitate comprehensive machine and process digitization. This requires standardising data collection methods for manufacturing execution systems (MES), enabling efficient integration of supplier process data, and evaluating appropriate technology standards for digital interfaces across hardware, software, and embedded modules.

3.In addition, you will manage multiple projects concurrently from planning to deployment and sustenance phases, utilising tools such as MS Project for effective scheduling and resource allocation. This entails close coordination with project execution teams, vendors, plant heads, IT infrastructure teams, and digital champions to ensure successful MES and digitisation project rollouts. Budget oversight, milestone tracking, and risk mitigation will be key responsibilities while ensuring the alignment of digital initiatives with overall plant KPIs.

4. Key deliverables include continuous engagement in project reviews with stakeholders, managing assets in collaboration with Asset Management, and fostering collaboration with IT teams to support compute, storage, and network requirements. You will also be accountable for developing dashboards and reports that monitor benefit realization, highlight deviations, and propose improvements to enhance analytics capabilities and business insights effectively.

Experience

We are seeking candidates with 2-5 years of progressive experience in industrial automation and manufacturing digital transformation projects, particularly involving MES and IoT ecosystems. Ideal experience includes hands-on exposure to PLC programming, industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, Profinet, and Profibus, and working with major PLC brands like Siemens, Schneider, Rockwell, and Mitsubishi.

The role requires practical knowledge of sensor technologies, industrial device configuration including RFID and wireless systems, and signal conditioning in both linear and non-linear systems. Experience in data analytics using tools such as Python, Pandas, and Matplotlib to analyze manufacturing data and develop predictive scenarios is highly valuable.

Proven capability in managing automation projects end-to-end—right from technology ideation, data acquisition strategy, through deployment and sustained operations—is sought. Strong documentation skills using software such as MS Visio, Word, and PowerPoint to translate technical insights into clear, actionable materials for diverse stakeholders are essential.

Applicants should demonstrate autonomy in problem solving, debugging manufacturing web and distributed Windows applications, and working collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Prior involvement in digital manufacturing environments and manufacturing analytics projects will be advantageous.

Industry Preferred

Preferred candidates will have experience in the automotive manufacturing sector or original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), where precision, automation, and data-driven decision-making are pivotal. Exposure to shop floor digital transformation within automotive plants or equivalent high-volume industrial settings will enable a strong understanding of the complexities and expectations within this industry.

Experience within industries that emphasize stringent quality management, real-time system monitoring, and predictive maintenance will also be beneficial. Familiarity with automotive production systems and MES integration tailored to large-scale manufacturing will be a significant asset in delivering maximum impact through this role.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech.) with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognised university.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Additional certifications or training in Industrial Automation, IoT, Data Analytics, or related fields would be advantageous.
  • Continuing education relating to programming languages, automation frameworks, and digital manufacturing applications is encouraged to keep pace with evolving technology.

General Requirements

Successful candidates should have robust technical expertise in industrial control systems and MES-IoT environments, complemented by practical capabilities in PLC programming and industrial communication networks such as Modbus TCP/IP, Profinet, and Profibus.

Hands-on experience with devices from major vendors like Siemens, Schneider, Rockwell, and Mitsubishi, as well as familiarity with sensor technologies and industrial measurement techniques, is necessary. Functional understanding of data sampling, signal conditioning, and the analysis of both linear and non-linear systems will form the foundation of your daily responsibilities.

Proficiency with data analytics tools, especially in Python including libraries such as Pandas and Matplotlib, is highly desirable to assist in the extraction of actionable insights from manufacturing data. Comfortable documentation skills using MS Visio, Word, and PowerPoint to produce detailed technical schematics and presentations are expected.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, excellent problem-solving aptitude, and strong collaborative abilities. The capacity to quickly interpret user requirements and transform these into technical use cases will contribute significantly to project success. Embracing a continuous learning mindset and enthusiasm for emerging technologies aimed at operational efficiency is essential.
