Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

The Assistant Manager - Buying within the Farm Division at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd holds a pivotal role in ensuring seamless supply chain operations by maintaining optimal inventory levels of raw materials and components. The responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and monitoring agreed-upon inventory levels to ensure a continuous flow of materials from suppliers to manufacturing plants.
  • Collaborating closely with supply chain planning teams to forecast demand and participate actively in inventory planning sessions, defining optimal stock levels and adjustment protocols.
  • Implementing and enforcing established inventory policies and procedures to maintain compliance and reduce operational risks.
  • Developing and deploying loss prevention strategies aimed at minimizing inventory shrinkage and ensuring resource efficiency.
  • Coordinating effectively with manufacturing and procurement departments to align inventory balances with production schedules and vendor capabilities.
  • Leading and managing the daily activities of the Material Logistics and Control (MLL) staff, fostering team collaboration, productivity, and accountability.
  • Conducting regular reviews and audits of inventory processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Utilising data analytics to monitor inventory KPIs, preparing detailed reports, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Supporting cross-functional communication to resolve supply chain challenges proactively and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the accuracy, responsiveness, and cost-effectiveness of the inventory management system.
