Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
The Dy Manager- Assembly Maintenance will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing maintenance operations to ensure the highest levels of equipment availability and reliability within the manufacturing environment. This role demands expert knowledge and application of Analytical QC Tools, ISO standards, Kaizens, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), QC Story methodologies, MFMEA, Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM), Time-Based Maintenance (TBM), and Root Cause Analysis to drive continuous improvements in the assembly maintenance processes.
Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical systems such as mechanical power presses and end-of-travel (EOT) cranes, as well as implementing corrective actions for hydraulic and pneumatic systems to optimize performance and extend equipment life. You will be accountable for ensuring XYZ compliance with safety and legal standards, in coordination with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Additional critical deliverables involve monitoring and achieving optimal parameters for preventive maintenance (P.M.), uptime, mean time to repair (MTTR), and mean time between failures (MTBF) of tryout and spotting presses, CNC machines, overhead cranes, diesel generator sets, compressors, and forklifts. Maintenance planning, controlling, and monitoring of spares inventory will be essential to minimize downtime and streamline repair activities.
This leadership role requires driving the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) PM Pillar activities and promoting a culture of operational excellence and safety. The role also encompasses collaboration with cross-functional teams for assembly line maintenance, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules while enhancing equipment reliability and sustaining continuous improvement initiatives.
Through strategic planning, data-driven decision-making, and exemplary leadership, the Dy Manager- Assembly Maintenance will contribute significantly to the Farm Division's mission of delivering superior quality and performance. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability within maintenance operations.
Preferred Industries
Education Qualification
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline. This educational background provides a solid foundation in mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and maintenance engineering principles.
Advanced certifications related to quality management systems such as ISO 9000, ISO/TS 16949, or safety standards like OHSAS 18001 will be considered advantageous, as will any formal training in maintenance methodologies such as TPM, Root Cause Analysis, or failure mode effects analysis (FMEA).
Continuous professional development and commitment to learning are highly valued, as the candidate will be expected to stay updated on industry best practices, technological advancements in machinery maintenance, and emerging trends in predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
General Experience
The position requires a professional with substantial maintenance engineering experience, ideally within the automobile, engine, or engineering sectors. Candidates with a minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience will be considered for mid-level roles, while those with 8 to 11 years of experience may qualify for senior responsibilities within the team.
Experience spanning troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical presses, CNC machinery, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as utilities such as cranes, compressors, and DG sets, is crucial. Hands-on experience in managing preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, monitoring equipment performance metrics, and driving continuous improvement initiatives will underpin success in this role.
Proven track record in planning and controlling spare parts inventory, executing Kaizen projects, and leveraging quality management systems to enhance reliability and safety standards is essential. The role also favors candidates who have demonstrated capability in managing maintenance teams, coordinating cross-departmental activities, and applying lean manufacturing principles.
Critical Experience
A critical experience component for this role includes deep expertise in applying a wide spectrum of maintenance and quality improvement tools such as Analytical QC Tools, ISO frameworks, Kaizens, VSM, QC Story, Machinery Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (MFMEA), and Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) techniques. The candidate must have demonstrated skills in root cause analysis and troubleshooting within complex mechanical environments, with a focus on power presses and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
Experience managing the maintenance of CNC machines, tryout and spotting presses, and associated utility equipment is critical. This includes proficiency in monitoring and improving key performance indicators such as preventive maintenance compliance, machine uptime, MTTR, and MTBF to ensure high operational availability.
The candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of TPM Pillar Activities and the ability to lead their implementation to foster a culture of continuous improvement and equipment reliability. Adeptness in coordinating statutory, regulatory, and legal compliance as it relates to machinery and workplace safety is mandatory.
Strong leadership competencies in strategic business orientation, sustainability, customer focus, innovation-driven transformation, and effective project management will enable the individual to excel in this role. The candidate must be capable of driving cross-functional collaboration, team development, and leveraging human capital to support organizational goals while maintaining a frugal and sustainability-conscious mindset.
