Dy. Manager - Maintenance (Utilities)

Date:  25 Nov 2025
Location:

Zaheerabad, Zaheerabad-FD, IN

Company:  Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

As the Deputy Manager - Maintenance (Utilities) at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of critical utility systems within the manufacturing environment, specifically the Farm Division. Your primary responsibilities include leveraging your expertise in Analytical QC Tools, ISO standards, Kaizens, VSM, QC Story, MFMEA, CBM, TBM, and Root Cause Analysis to drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high operational standards.

You will be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical power presses and EOT cranes, as well as managing the repair and maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems associated with these presses. A key aspect of your role involves inspecting and correcting the parallelism and perpendicularity of presses to minimize downtime and optimize performance.

Monitoring and ensuring compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and legal requirements relevant to utility maintenance forms an essential part of your duties. You will oversee preventive maintenance (P.M.) schedules, emphasizing maximized uptime, reduced mean time to repair (MTTR), and optimized mean time between failures (MTBF) of tryout and spotting presses, CNC machines, and essential utilities such as overhead cranes, DG sets, compressors, and forklifts.

Another critical component of your role is the planning, control, and monitoring of spare parts inventory to guarantee availability without excess stock. Implementation and upkeep of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) P.M. pillar activities will be expected, fostering a culture of proactive maintenance and operational excellence.

This position demands collaboration with cross-functional teams to strategize and execute maintenance plans that support production targets. You will contribute to waste management and civil engineering projects within utility maintenance, reinforcing sustainable practices and enhancing facility infrastructure.

Your dedication to quality, safety, and continuous improvement will directly impact operational efficiency, cost effectiveness, and the overall success of the manufacturing division.

Education Qualification

Candidates are required to possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology, preferably a B.E. or B.Tech, from a recognized and accredited institution. A degree specialization in mechanical, industrial, electrical, or civil engineering will be advantageous due to the technical demands of maintenance and utility systems.

Educational credentials must reflect a strong foundation in engineering principles, applied mechanics, and systems management suitable for complex manufacturing environments. Awareness and training in industry standards such as ISO 9000, ISO/TS 16949, ISO/IEC 17025, and OHSAS 18001 are highly desirable to align with the company's quality and safety frameworks.

Further professional certifications or coursework related to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), predictive maintenance techniques, and root cause analysis methodologies will be considered a significant plus, enhancing the candidate's capability to perform at a managerial level in utility maintenance operations.

General Experience

The successful applicant will bring between 5 to 11 years of progressive experience in maintenance management within manufacturing or engineering sectors, ideally with exposure to engine, automobile, or heavy machinery industries. This experience should demonstrate hands-on skills in managing and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, as well as electrical utilities.

Experience in planning and executing maintenance schedules for CNC machines, presses, cranes, and facility utilities is expected, alongside expertise in managing spare parts inventories. The candidate should be proficient in leveraging maintenance management systems and analytical tools to track equipment performance metrics such as uptime, MTTR, and MTBF.

Moreover, familiarity with regulatory compliance, safety standards, and waste management within industrial environments is necessary. Demonstrated participation in continuous improvement projects, TPM initiatives, and proficiency in root cause analysis will position the candidate to succeed in this role.

Critical Experience

Critical experience for this position includes advanced knowledge and application of Analytical Quality Control Tools and methodologies such as Kaizens, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), QC Story, and Machinery Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (MFMEA). Expertise in Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) and Time-Based Maintenance (TBM) strategies is essential to optimize maintenance resources and extend equipment life cycles.

Proven capability in troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical presses, Electro Overhead Traveling (EOT) cranes, and associated hydraulic and pneumatic systems is a must. Candidates must show a track record of successfully monitoring and maintaining critical equipment parallelism and perpendicularity to avoid production disruptions.

Experience managing preventive and corrective maintenance programs for CNC machines and heavy utility equipment such as DG sets, compressors, and forklifts is required. Additionally, competence in interpreting and ensuring adherence to statutory, regulatory, and legal requirements relevant to manufacturing utilities is vital.

The role demands demonstrated leadership in planning and controlling spare parts logistics and executing TPM PM pillar activities to create a sustainable and efficient maintenance environment. Prior exposure to projects involving waste management and civil engineering aspects of utility maintenance will be highly valuable for holistic facility management.
