Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As a Deputy Manager - Maintenance (Utilities) within the Utility Maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all mechanical utility systems across our manufacturing facilities. You will take charge of troubleshooting and repairing mechanical power presses, EOT cranes, and associated hydraulic and pneumatic systems, applying extensive knowledge of maintenance best practices including PM uptime, MTTR, and MTBF metrics.
Your key deliverables will include monitoring and maintaining the parallelism and perpendicularity of presses to ensure precision in operations, implementing and overseeing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) pillar activities, and planning, controlling, and monitoring spare parts inventory to minimise downtime. You will also ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and legal requirements relating to mechanical utilities.
Utilising your expertise in Analytical QC tools such as ISO standards, Kaizen, VSM, QC Story, MFMEA, CBM, TBM, and Root Cause Analysis, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be vital to align maintenance strategies with business objectives and quality standards.
- Manage and execute preventive and corrective maintenance for all utility-related mechanical equipment including overhead cranes, DG sets, compressors, and forklifts.
- Lead fault diagnosis and root cause analysis for mechanical failures, ensuring timely resolution to support uninterrupted production.
- Implement maintenance schedules and ensure all maintenance activities support uptime targets for tryout, spotting presses and CNC machines.
- Drive health and safety compliance, fostering a safe work environment adhering to OHSAS 18001 standards.
- Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to optimise spare parts management and reduce operational costs.
- Document and analyse maintenance data to identify trends and recommend proactive maintenance strategies.
Your role will be pivotal in sustaining operational excellence and contributing to the long-term strategic goals of our Farm Division manufacturing unit.

Education Qualification
Applicants should possess a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from a recognised university or institution. A robust foundation in mechanical engineering principles and practical knowledge pertinent to maintenance management are essential for success in this role.
Additional certifications related to maintenance management, reliability engineering, or quality management systems (such as ISO 9001, ISO TS 16949) will be advantageous. Training in TPM methodologies, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing principles will also be considered a strong asset.

General Experience

This experience should encompass hands-on involvement with maintenance of heavy machinery, including power presses, cranes, CNC machines, and utility equipment.
Demonstrable expertise in managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, driving TPM initiatives, and implementing continuous improvement projects is required. Experience working in environments adhering to ISO certifications and quality standards will be essential to successfully meet the demands of this role.
Leadership experience in coordinating teams, planning maintenance schedules, and liaising with various departments to achieve operational goals will enhance your effectiveness. Adaptability to shifting priorities and problem-solving capabilities in high-pressure manufacturing settings are critical.
Critical Experience
Candidates must possess specialised and critical experience showcasing profound technical knowledge and practical skills in the following areas:
