Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

As a Graduate Apprentice Trainee in the Manufacturing department, you will support day-to-day production activities and contribute to the efficient execution of manufacturing operations. Your responsibilities will include assisting in production planning and execution, maintaining process documentation, monitoring productivity and quality parameters, and ensuring adherence to established manufacturing standards.

You will work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to support process optimization, identify improvement opportunities, and drive operational excellence initiatives. The role will provide exposure to manufacturing workflows, production systems, lean practices, and quality management processes.

You will actively participate in production reviews, safety initiatives, 5S activities, and continuous improvement projects while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements. Through hands-on experience and structured learning, you will develop a strong understanding of manufacturing systems, process control, productivity enhancement, and shop-floor management practices.

Education Qualification

Graduates holding a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related disciplines.

The educational background should demonstrate a sound understanding of engineering fundamentals, including manufacturing processes, production systems, quality management, industrial engineering, materials science, and mechanical design principles. Candidates should possess a strong interest in manufacturing operations and a willingness to apply academic knowledge in a practical industrial environment.

Fresh graduates with consistent academic performance and participation in technical projects, internships, industrial training, or extracurricular activities related to manufacturing, production, operations, or process improvement will be preferred.

General Experience

Basic understanding of manufacturing and production processes gained through academic projects, internships, industrial training, or practical exposure, with a willingness to learn and grow in a shop-floor environment.
Familiarity with engineering drawings, manufacturing workflows, quality control practices, safety standards, lean manufacturing concepts, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint); exposure to CAD software, ERP systems, and production reporting tools will be an added advantage.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and adapt to a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Critical Experience

Candidates should have demonstrated the application of engineering concepts through laboratory work, technical projects, internships, or industrial training involving manufacturing operations, process improvement, production systems, or quality management. Such exposure will support a practical understanding of manufacturing environments and operational excellence principles.

Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to identify and resolve process-related issues are essential. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, 5S methodologies, productivity improvement techniques, root cause analysis, and workplace safety standards will enable effective contribution from the outset.

Additionally, candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling productive collaboration with cross-functional teams while contributing to Mahindra's commitment to operational excellence, product quality, customer satisfaction, and sustainable manufacturing practices.
