Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

As a Graduate Apprentice Trainee in the Supply Chain Planning & Control (SCPC) department, you will support planning and control activities to ensure the seamless flow of materials and information across the manufacturing value chain. Your responsibilities will include assisting in production planning, material requirement planning, inventory monitoring, and coordination of material availability to support production schedules.

You will work closely with Production, Procurement, Logistics, Stores, and Supplier teams to track material movement, monitor inventory levels, analyze supply chain performance, and support schedule adherence. The role will provide exposure to demand planning, capacity planning, production control, inventory optimization, and operational reporting processes.

You will participate in data analysis, preparation of planning reports, process reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing supply chain efficiency and operational effectiveness. Additionally, you will support the implementation of planning best practices while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and organizational standards. Through hands-on learning, you will develop a strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain planning and manufacturing operations.

Education Qualification

Graduates holding a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, or related disciplines.

The educational background should demonstrate a strong understanding of operations management, production systems, inventory control, materials management, supply chain fundamentals, and data analysis principles. Candidates should possess a keen interest in planning, coordination, and manufacturing support functions.

Fresh graduates with consistent academic performance and participation in technical projects, internships, industrial training, or extracurricular activities related to supply chain, planning, operations, logistics, or manufacturing will be preferred.

General Experience

Basic understanding of supply chain planning, production control, inventory management, and manufacturing processes gained through academic projects, internships, industrial training, or practical exposure.
Familiarity with material requirement planning (MRP), inventory control practices, production scheduling, supply chain workflows, safety standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, along with Word and PowerPoint; exposure to ERP systems, SAP, planning tools, or reporting applications will be an added advantage.Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and manage data-driven decision-making.

Critical Experience

Candidates should have demonstrated the application of these concepts through academic projects, internships, industrial training, or practical assignments related to demand planning, production scheduling, inventory analysis, logistics coordination, or manufacturing operations. Such exposure will provide valuable insight into supply chain processes and production control functions.

Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to interpret operational data, identify supply chain risks, and support planning decisions are essential. Familiarity with forecasting concepts, inventory optimization techniques, ERP systems, MRP processes, and performance monitoring metrics will enable effective contribution from the outset.

Additionally, candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling productive collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders while contributing to Mahindra's commitment to operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and sustainable supply chain performance.
