Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

As an integral member of the Quality Management team at Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited, you will take charge of implementing and overseeing rigorous quality assurance processes aimed at maintaining zero-defect production levels. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading quality assurance initiatives such as Zero Defect stages and implementing Poka Yoke systems to prevent defects before they occur.
  • Ensuring that all in-process quality assurance checks comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) meticulously, guaranteeing consistent product quality throughout the manufacturing cycle.
  • Applying your expertise in methodologies including MPPAP (Manufacturing Process and Product Approval Process), FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to enhance process reliability and product performance.
  • Monitoring daily internal rejection rates and initiating timely, effective corrective actions to resolve quality issues and minimize defects.
  • Collaborating closely with field and application teams to address and resolve customer complaints efficiently, leveraging data to drive continuous improvement in customer satisfaction.
  • Conducting comprehensive audits including Process, Product, and Layer audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and identify areas for process enhancement.
  • Adhering strictly to the Quality Management System (QMS) policies, championing its effective implementation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across all manufacturing activities.
  • Utilizing advanced problem-solving methodologies such as 8D (Eight Disciplines) and QC Story to systematically investigate and resolve quality issues, supported by thorough engineering drawing analysis and rejection data interpretation.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant ISO/IATF quality standards and documentation to ensure all processes meet international compliance requirements.

This role requires a proactive approach to quality assurance, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team committed to delivering excellence in product quality.

Experience

We are seeking candidates with experience levels ranging from entry to mid-career professionals, specifically 0 to 5 years within quality assurance or related functions in manufacturing settings. Ideal candidates will possess hands-on experience in quality control processes and preventive quality techniques.

Preferred Experience Profile:

  • Exposure to quality assurance activities including but not limited to Zero Defect initiatives, Poka Yoke implementation, and routine quality audits.
  • Understanding and practical application of quality methodologies such as FMEA, MPPAP, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC.
  • Experience in analyzing internal rejection metrics and implementing corrective measures.
  • Familiarity with interpreting engineering drawings and technical product specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate collaboratively in cross-functional teams addressing customer complaint resolutions.

While prior experience in automotive or manufacturing industries is advantageous, we encourage motivated individuals with a strong foundation in quality principles and a drive for continuous improvement to apply.

Industry Preferred

The preferred industry background includes, but is not limited to, sectors such as automotive manufacturing, last-mile mobility solutions, and other high-precision manufacturing environments. Candidates with experience in:

  • Automotive component quality assurance and supply chain quality management.
  • Manufacturing environments adhering to ISO/IATF standards.
  • Production industries utilizing advanced quality management systems and statistical quality control methods.
  • Organizations focusing on zero-defect manufacturing and lean quality techniques.

These industry experiences align well with the requirements of the role and will contribute significantly to successful performance within our quality assurance team.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess at minimum a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree or equivalent qualification in engineering or related technical disciplines. Educational credentials should provide a strong foundation in manufacturing processes, quality engineering principles, and statistical analysis.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Formal training or certifications in quality management systems such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or ISO/IATF standards is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in quality assurance tools and methodologies like FMEA, MSA, SPC, and experience in conducting audits.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and quality data reports.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal to collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders.
