Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As a PQA Specialist at Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited, you will be entrusted with ensuring the highest standards of quality assurance across motor, power pack, power electronics, and vehicle assembly products. Your role encompasses managing comprehensive product validation processes, adhering to stringent zero defect quality stages, and implementing poka-yoke solutions to effectively prevent errors.
Your daily responsibilities will include conducting in-process quality checks in line with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), closely monitoring internal rejection rates to identify trends, and promptly initiating corrective actions. Utilizing your expertise in advanced quality frameworks such as MPPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA), you will support robust quality control systems.
Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including field and application departments, you will help resolve customer complaints and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through process audits, product audits, and layered audits. Adherence to Quality Management Systems (QMS), coupled with the effective execution of ISO and IATF standards, will be essential in sustaining quality excellence.
Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis methodologies like 8D, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and rejection reports are crucial components of this role. Familiarity with SAP transactions related to quality clearance will support seamless product verification and approvals.
You should demonstrate strong communication skills to engage all stakeholders effectively, lead defect analysis initiatives alongside cross-functional teams, and display strong team management capabilities. Competence in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint will aid in data collection, analysis, and reporting efforts.
This position demands a proactive attitude towards tackling new challenges in quality improvement and cost optimization. Additionally, you will oversee end-of-line testing for aggregates and overall vehicle assessments to assure compliance with quality standards.
Experience
The ideal candidate will bring over eight years of comprehensive experience in the automotive manufacturing industry, with a focus on quality assurance and product validation for motor and power electronics systems. A proven track record in managing zero defect quality initiatives and implementing poka-yoke solutions is essential.
Experience working within quality management frameworks such as MPPAP, FMEA, Control Plan development, and MSA is required. Candidates should also be adept at conducting various audit types, including process, product, and layered audits, ensuring compliance at every production stage.
Strong expertise in statistical tools such as SPC and problem-solving techniques like 8D root cause analysis is expected along with knowledge of ISO/IATF standards and proficiency in SAP quality clearance transactions.
Prior involvement in coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve customer complaints and driving continuous improvement projects will be highly valued. The candidate should demonstrate solid team leadership and effective communication skills across multiple stakeholder levels, enhanced by proficiency in data analysis and report generation using software tools such as MS Excel and PowerPoint.
Industry Preferred
This role is ideally suited for candidates with a background in the automotive sector, particularly those who have experience working with leading vehicle manufacturers or component suppliers. Familiarity with industries producing motor assemblies, power electronics, and integrated vehicle systems will be considered a strong advantage.
Candidates with prior experience collaborating with companies such as TVS Motor Company, Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Hyundai, Ola Electric, Hero MotoCorp, or Honda will find this position highly relevant, as it demands understanding and meeting stringent quality requirements characteristic of these organizations.
Qualifications
A Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is mandatory for this role. Candidates should possess a thorough understanding of engineering principles as they relate to motor and vehicle assembly systems, complemented by practical knowledge in quality assurance methodologies.
Educational qualifications should be supported by continuous professional development in quality management systems, product validation, and statistical quality control techniques.
