Manager- Motor and Drivetrain Assembly

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Job Purpose

Lead and manage the complete Motor & Drivetrain manufacturing function for EV 3-Wheeler production, ensuring achievement of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Productivity, and People (SQCDP) targets. Drive operational excellence through strategic manpower planning, process optimization, capacity enhancement, lean manufacturing, digital transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives while building a high-performing manufacturing team.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end Motor & Drivetrain manufacturing operations to consistently achieve Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Productivity (SQCDP) targets.
  • Manage and develop a team of Production Officers and shop-floor personnel, ensuring high performance, accountability, and succession readiness.
  • Plan manpower, resource allocation, and capacity requirements to support current production demands and future business growth.
  • Drive production execution and ensure adherence to manufacturing plans, customer commitments, and operational KPIs.
  • Own and improve key manufacturing metrics including OEE, FPY, throughput, productivity, cycle time, rejection, and rework.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Line Balancing, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and waste elimination projects.
  • Provide technical oversight of winding, motor assembly, drivetrain assembly, testing, NVH validation, and end-of-line processes to ensure process stability and product quality.
  • Drive root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions for quality, production, and field-related issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Establish, review, and strengthen SOPs, process controls, standard work practices, and manufacturing governance systems.
  • Lead cost optimization, automation, and digital transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and manufacturing competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and NPD teams to support new product launches, engineering changes, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, EHS, statutory requirements, customer standards, and audit expectations while fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Develop and execute short-term and long-term manufacturing strategies to enhance productivity, scalability, quality performance, and operational excellence across the Motor & Drivetrain value stream.
