Assistant Manager - Industrial Engineering

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  • Union Management: Dealing with the Union during productivity-linked proposals and negotiations; resolving issues related to work content reduction; securing buy-in on new proposals related to productivity, ergonomics, etc
  • Manpower Management: Evaluating and calculating manpower requirements and capacity as per monthly plans; managing resources to meet production and distribution schedules
  • Low Cost Automation: Evaluating proposals and preparing business cases for senior management; conducting cost studies, economic comparisons, and justification analysis
  • New Product Launches – Work Content Optimization: Collaborating with design teams to optimize work content at the design and process level before shop floor implementation
  • UEWT: Designing EWT improvements and conducting periodic reviews
  • Line Balancing & Layout Optimization: Balancing lines and layouts for optimal material flow and takt time; identifying pulse points and setting up programs to optimize flow, inventory, manpower, and processes
  • Operational Improvement: Analyzing existing operations and proposing cost-justified improvements
  • Bottleneck Analysis: Identifying process bottlenecks and coordinating with cross-functional teams to improve productivity
  • Project Reporting: Communicating project status using appropriate tools for all identified initiatives
