Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Process Flow & Layout Planning: Define the sequence of assembly operations (e.g., underbody, body side, closures) and plan the optimal floor layout for robotic work cells and manual stations.
Joining Technology Selection: Determine the best joining methods for various materials, including Resistance Spot Welding (RSW), laser welding, MIG/TIG, structural adhesives, and self-piercing riveting (SPR).
Cycle Time Analysis & Takt Time: Calculate process times for each station, balance the production line, and identify/eliminate bottlenecks to meet volume demands
Tool & Fixture Validation: Review tool designs (jigs, grippers, and clamps) for weld and manufacturing feasibility before they are built
Robotic Simulation: Collaborate with simulation teams to evaluate robot reach, weld gun accessibility, and avoid collisions
Equipment Selection: Research, evaluate, and assist in purchasing production machinery (welding robots, hemmer presses, conveyors)
