Assistant Manager - Heavy Machine Shop Maintenance

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

s an Machine Electrical Maintenance- Shift Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functionality and reliability of heavy machinery within our manufacturing plant. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and executing maintenance activities for CNC machines, VMCs, HMCs, sliding head, and wheel turning machines, ensuring minimal downtime through timely interventions.
  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical breakdowns promptly, leveraging your expertise in various machine controllers such as FANUC, SIEMENS, MITSUBISHI, and DELTA.
  • Conducting regular geometrical testing and calibration of machinery to maintain precision and quality standards.
  • Overseeing preventive maintenance schedules and implementation to enhance machine longevity and efficiency.
  • Programming and troubleshooting CNC systems, ensuring alignment with production requirements and specifications.
  • Handling the maintenance and repair of advanced components including automatic pallet changers (RAPC, LAPC), hydraulic fixtures, ATC magazines, and gearboxes.
  • Responding swiftly to breakdowns in UCAM rotary and index tables and ensuring these equipment are operational to avoid production delays.
  • Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting conveyor systems, including MIVEN and UNIVERSAL makes, integrating hydraulic and pneumatic system knowledge to support mechanical operations.
  • Managing chiller units related to coolant, spindle, and hydraulic systems to maintain optimal operating temperatures and prevent equipment overheating.
  • Participating in the assembly and maintenance of electromechanical and hydraulic servo turrets and automatic tool changers manufactured by PRAGATI.
  • Performing mechanical component replacements and repairs such as chucking cylinders (P-Series, PSS, PHS series), axis ball screws, bearings, and linear motion guideways to sustain precise movements and machine accuracy.
  • Leading and mentoring the maintenance team to foster a culture of safety, precision, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborating closely with production departments to plan maintenance activities around operational schedules, maximising productivity with minimal disruption.
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate maintenance documentation, reports, and compliance records adhering to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Continuously researching and implementing best practices and new technologies to improve machine maintenance processes and reduce costs.
