Preferred Industries
Education Qualification
The ideal candidate will possess a solid educational foundation in engineering disciplines pertinent to manufacturing maintenance. Acceptable qualifications include:
- Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) or Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) specialising in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, providing strong theoretical and practical skills essential for managing complex industrial systems.
- Alternatively, candidates with a relevant Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with substantial professional experience will also be considered.
The educational background should instil competencies in electrical circuits, control systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and digital automation technologies. Commitment to continuous professional development and certifications related to safety standards, quality management, or automation will be an asset.
General Experience
An extensive professional experience background is essential for success in this role, reflecting both depth and breadth of technical and managerial expertise within the automotive or manufacturing sectors.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is expected for candidates holding a Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. This experience should demonstrate progressive responsibility in maintenance operations and leadership roles.
- Candidates possessing a bachelor's degree (B.Tech/B.E.) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering should have at least 8 years of comprehensive maintenance experience, including hands-on technical roles and supervisory responsibilities.
Experience must encompass exposure to both mechanical and electrical aspects of manufacturing maintenance, inclusive of material handling systems, automation (PLCs, SCADA, VFD, HMIs), and continuous improvement practices. Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and liaise effectively with vendors and production units is critical.
Critical Experience
The successful candidate must demonstrate critical domain expertise and specialised skills critical to maintaining advanced manufacturing systems:
- Proven hands-on experience in operating and maintaining conveyor systems, including overhead I-beam continuous conveyors, caterpillar driven, slat, belt, and gravity roller types, capable of diagnosing mechanical issues and implementing durable solutions.
- In-depth understanding of fluid and air management equipment such as centrifugal pumps, blowers, heat exchangers, and thermal equipment including Thermax hot water generators and Weishaupt burners, ensuring optimal operational reliability.
- Competency in overseeing spray painting booth operations, including maintenance of electrostatic and conventional spraying equipment, paint kitchen pumps, air supply and exhaust management, and filter systems.
- Skilled in monitoring and servicing baking ovens and burners, ensuring adherence to process parameters and filter maintenance requirements.
- Technical ability to manage pneumatic, hydraulic, and battery-operated assembly line tools, number punching machines, and specialized test rigs critical for manufacturing quality assurance.
- Experience in material handling machinery operation and maintenance such as forklifts (diesel and battery-operated), stackers, tow trucks, and pallet systems, with a strong safety compliance record.
- Expertise in industrial automation including Mitsubishi and Delta PLCs, SCADA, VFDs, and HMIs relating to programming, troubleshooting, and modification to improve system performance.
- Demonstrable familiarity with Lean manufacturing tools and safety standards, including TPM, 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), Working at Heights (WAH), and Environment Safety Management System (ESMS), implementing them effectively in a plant environment.
- Strong analytical capability to undertake failure mode analysis, implement corrective actions, and continuously optimise preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
The candidate should be committed to maintaining a zero-incident safety culture and continuously demonstrate leadership in driving operational excellence and energy efficiency within a fast-paced production setting.
