Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As the Assistant Manager - Engine Maintenance at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Farm Division, you will be responsible for overseeing maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and reliability of engine manufacturing equipment and utilities. Your key responsibilities include:
- Utilizing Analytical QC Tools to continuously monitor and enhance equipment performance and product quality.
- Applying ISO standards and principles such as ISO 9000, ISO TS 16949, and ISO/IEC 17025 to maintain rigorous quality management and calibration protocols.
- Leading Kaizen initiatives and Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to drive continuous process improvements and eliminate waste in maintenance workflows.
- Conducting thorough QC Story analyses and deploying MFMEA methods to identify and mitigate potential machinery failure risks proactively.
- Executing comprehensive troubleshooting and repair of mechanical power presses, including maintaining and optimizing operations of EOT cranes.
- Maintaining and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems integral to press machinery performance.
- Verifying and adjusting parallelism and perpendicularity of presses to ensure precision manufacturing outputs.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and legal requirements related to machinery operation and safety.
- Monitoring key maintenance metrics such as Planned Maintenance (P.M.), Uptime, Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) for tryout, spotting presses, and CNC machines.
- Overseeing maintenance and uptime of auxiliary utilities including overhead cranes, diesel generators, compressors, and forklifts to maintain uninterrupted plant operations.
- Planning, controlling, and managing spare parts inventory to minimize downtime and optimize maintenance schedules.
- Driving the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities, with a specific focus on the Preventive Maintenance (P.M.) pillar to enhance equipment reliability and workforce engagement.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and safety to ensure seamless operations and continuous improvement.
- Participating in root cause analysis sessions to resolve recurring equipment issues and share best practices across units.
This role requires a hands-on approach, strategic foresight, and an ability to lead maintenance teams toward operational excellence while fostering a culture of quality, safety, and innovation.

Education Qualification
Educational qualifications for the Assistant Manager - Engine Maintenance role include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, with a strong preference for Mechanical Engineering disciplines.
- Additional certifications or training in Quality Management Systems (such as ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949) and maintenance methodologies will be advantageous.
- Familiarity with safety standards such as OHSAS 18001 or equivalent occupational health and safety certifications is desirable.
- Completion of specialized courses in hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance, CNC programming, and machinery failure analysis would be an asset.

General Experience

- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex mechanical systems and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment as applied to production resources.
- A proven track record in driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing tools such as Kaizen, VSM, and TPM.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory compliance requirements within an industrial setting.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities working with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve plant reliability and operational targets.
- Experience in utilizing data analytics and performance metrics to optimize maintenance strategies.
