Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Store Operations Management

  • Lead and oversee end-to-end stores operations including receiving, storing, issuing, packaging, preservation, dispatch, and disposal of materials.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management and material traceability to support uninterrupted production and customer deliveries.
  • Manage vendor-aid transactions and supplier rejection processes as per established procedures.
  • Drive best practices in storage, preservation, and warehouse management to maintain material quality and availability.

Inventory & Asset Management

  • Utilize SAP modules (MM, SD, and PP) for efficient material management and inventory control.
  • Conduct inventory analysis including perpetual inventory audits, stock ageing analysis, and capital asset management.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and optimize stock levels to improve operational efficiency and working capital management.
  • Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory and implement corrective actions.

Cost Management & Operational Excellence

  • Manage and control Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) elements such as scrap, detention, premium freight, underload, expiry, and related losses.
  • Drive initiatives for cost reduction, process optimization, and waste elimination across stores operations.
  • Manage revenue expenditure budgets and implement measures to achieve cost efficiencies without impacting service levels or quality.

Logistics & Dispatch Planning

  • Plan and optimize dispatch schedules and IUTN vehicle utilization to meet customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Coordinate closely with customer plants, logistics partners, manufacturing teams, and support functions to ensure smooth material flow and timely deliveries.
  • Monitor dispatch performance and implement corrective actions to improve service levels.

People Management

  • Lead and manage a diverse workforce comprising permanent employees, unionized workmen, contract staff, and trainees.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive capability development initiatives through training, mentoring, and performance management.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and international standards including ISO, TS, TPM, OHSAS, SHE, and ISO 45001.
  • Promote and sustain a strong safety culture across stores operations.
  • Participate in audits, compliance reviews, and corrective action implementation to maintain regulatory and operational standards.
